you look for the entry in the utgame.ini file located in your unreal tournament 3 directory. Just change the value from "False" to "True"

Lowering the graphics is damn useful and helps for much more fluid movement and gameplay. However, the player skins he has on, as in high contrast is illegal in competitive UT gaming. It is even considered a cheat to some old schoolers of UT.

Lowest graphics and openGL is the best you cen get to play in the competitive world.

When you want to have a good game performance you need to have a good fluidity of game and high FPS...to do that you must reduce the graphics to the essential ;)

I play Halo Trial PC, on a tournament site, and the maker of that site made another site for people with UnrealTournament3 Demo it's called UnrealtlDOTcom and pro gamers will soon flood it like the halo site was flooded. I can't play this game, but I would really like to. Teach me how?

Where I'm supposed to replace the UTEngine.ini file...well I cant find the existing UTEngine.ini that I'm supposed to replace =/

All of them are named DefaultEngine.ini etc.

So does anyone want to descend from their throne of knowledge and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

If you win a match against lauke at the ESWC (if this is the same devilmc) then by definition your not exactly "bad" at the ut series. =P

That's how the pro's gonna play it, they gonna turn off all the eye candy to get more fps and use low res because low dpi means better aim.

It's much easier to see the enemy with all the over - designed textures turned off.

Sometimes crashes may occur if the LODBias in the ini are tweaked too aggressively. I only use an LODBias of 1 for the world textures, and leave everything else at "standard" low settings. However, some may want to leave the character models at medium settings so that they stick out more.

If Epic didn't want the game to be tweakable, they wouldn't have put all those settings in ini files, but just kept them "in the .exe". In other words, not editable.

there are hundreds of things you can tweak, from disabling, mouse acceleration, removing shiny halos, adding console death messages, changing your crosshair shape and size, turning down your music volume, and this little graphics tweak.

So why this is more of a cheat than the other stuff?? Since you told me to shut up, you should have a VERY good reason ready.

Brightskins are not used, it's just a conseguence of the ini tweak, when you low all the world, characters and so on texture bias, also skins get a very simple and clean structure and color, and in this case they get the color of the team, so they look like brightskins.

So still it makes the game cleaner and easier to master, so if you can choose between bright or non bright skins, well, i choose brightskins :)

The video has been made to show how easily is UT3 to be tweaked, ini's like usual have very easy codes that you can change imaging what will happen, and this is one of the best thing of Epic and i love it.

It's not all about specs and fps btw, it's also to show how the game can look smooth and clean, it will be very easy to frag and follow insane online action and focus right in the game with the game looking like this.

i should have made it clearer in the video info :) For low-end systems i meant that the game has been tested and played online with 60 stable rock solid fps with this system: AMD Athlon XP (OOOOOOOLD :D) 512 mb ram, 6600 GT with passive heatsink, it's like a 200 maybe less euro system, and the game could be played online in TDM with 14 players with 60 fps, that's absolutely amazing.

not sure if I like UT3. its gone back to UT99 which is good thing, but I miss dodge jump, it was great for getting from platform to platform and more to the point retreating when someone who you know is going to own you (whether it be cos they are better or cos your health is low) is on your tail.

No pros NEED brightskins, they just like it. They can still own the average player even if they have skins that are totally black.

thing is using brights they get accustomed to the skin, and therefore lose some of the ability to discern player from enviro when in non brightskin games (tourneys and etc) where they will get completely ganked by any sniper who can aim worth a damm.
