The Coast Guard has a long tradition of going into harm's way against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They have earned with their blood and courage all of the decorations the military has to offer, including the Congressional Medal of Honor for the ultimate sacrifice; givings one's life so that others might live. So what. Nothing better to do but be critical? "Amazing Grace" was part of a sermon written by John Newton these "lyrics have become a favourite for Christians, largely because the hymn vividly and briefly sums up the doctrine of divine grace. The lyrics are based on 1 Chronicles 17:16-17, a prayer of King David in which he marvels at God's choosing him and his house. I was inspired by a hymn, he was inspired by the Bible. Bagpipes weren't added until "modern times". It's a memorial tribute!

The armed forces are just the way politicians make their careers/agendas over the shoulders of the peoples for their selfish motivations.
Raising from a toddler we are sold with "wrong or good its my couyntry", but no politician nor son has left blood in the battlefield.
Thousands of ways to serve others, armed forces are not the only way to go.
