I was about to do all this until I read that iMovie is'nt working in VMware yet from a "Quartz Etreme" error. The whole reason I want to run OSX86 in Windows 7 is so I can play around with iMovie (or final cut) Can someone please let me know if it's possible to run Mac OS in VMware and use iMovie? If it's not possible, will iMovie work via a dual boot setup? I'd rather not have my Media Center miss recordings though so VMWare is the way to go. Suggestions?

I think only computers made after 2009 will work because of the processors ability to support virtualization. Thanks for the video! You also need a lot of RAM. My old desktops will remain adequate doorstops lol.

U might be able to by changing your BIOS settings to boot from USB first, i did that with linux on a thumb drive.

But the vmware runs in windows first so IDK about the created image running solo. I am going to try this later myself on an old desktop lying around.

@zacharysoe unfortunately not. i wish it was, that would mean that you could boot directly to that hard disk and completely skip the part of having to boot to windows/linux then going to mac via vmware, but that has not (and i doubt it ever will be) a function of vmware.

@gamemsg lol i was getting the same error and i thought that it was due to my cpu not supporting hardware virtualization, but since your i5 has virtualization, than you probably got some crappy vmware image. i thing that i had this same image and i got the same error. i did download an image of 10.6.4 for vmware but it requests hardware acceleration. if you wanna try it give me your email and ill send it to you, cause i forgot where i got the links to download it.
