@applesauceman I know they warn drivers to let go of the steering wheel in IndyCar racing when they are going to the wall. I'm pretty sure in sprint car racing, you should not let go of the wheel.
@charlesintestine that is wrong. if you watch videos you will see them always lift their arms in the air. its for the same reason as indy cars, or most any type of racing.
@charlesintestine You release hands from the wheel to prevent hand and wrist/forearm breakage......in a sprint car (and during this period too) the drivers have arms restraints that help keep the arms from flying outside of the car during a flip due to G forces or if the driver becomes unconscious..........they don't always work perfectly but before using them arms were crushed in accidents like this....
he likely removed his arms as they are taught in an accident, not losing grip. to prevent injury.
