I had the good lines.... "This is not the Man of Steel, this is a power ranger!" It was funny, the producer asked for someone to be the mouthpiece of the protesters, and I was chosen. So he asked me what pissed me off and I just let loose... I wish I had the raw video because there was some great lines that ended up not being used. But I did get on there twice and got to deliver the last lines of the segment.
It was really stupid. The way I remember it, it was after the Death and Rebirth of Superman. Because of the whole rebirth process his cellular structure had been altered to where it was containing and processing too much solar energy and he began developing energy-based powers, while his body was becoming unstable. That forced him to put on the 'Power Ranger' suit.
I don't think there was a real reason he split, other than his energy powers kept growing and forced the split. I remember that each Superman had different personalities and thought that he was the real Superman.
That was a great idea DC.....not!

I'll always wonder how long this was meant to last. I can't believe DC expected people to buy this as a permanent change, not by 1997.

My favorites in the raw video was... let me think how I phrased them....
"I mean, what are his powers? Does he improve cable reception when he flies by?"
"Who is his arch enemy going to be now, The Clapper?"
Man I wish they had used that one.
