i have loved this song for years. so cool that bethany wrote about it!!! so funny - i would always think of scotland when i heard it and when i finally visited scotland i found out why. this is one of my favorite love songs for the Lord, esp. when you wrote about my eyes smiling for Him - only Him. Lord bless you and thank you so much for this song, bethany!! and whoever did the video did a great job. :0)
My mum used to play this when we were growing up- in a little town in Kenya, Africa- and I've been looking everywhere for this album. I cried when I got it! And I'll walk down the aisle to one of these songs...I love to roam in the hills. This song is wonderful!
@BeautifulSoulgurl the pipes in this recording are Irish pipes, and the song was written in Scotland... and recorded in London, England with an Irish girl singing...
Hi again it is an Irish girl called Kathy Byrne singing the track. She has a really beautiful voice. Im not sure if she has recorded anything else. Bethany de Maio xxx
Thanks so much for posting this- I wrote this song about 22 years ago. For about 10 years I would sing it, often as I walked alone in the countryside in Scotland then Richmond Park in London. Then it got picked up by Vineyard and recorded, beautifully sung here by Kathy, I still havent got used to the fact that it isnt just 'my' song anymore! and its very touching that others can also relate to it, many thanks for kind comments, Bethany xxx
@bethanydemaio Oh dear sister, may the Lord bless you! It is obvious that this song was written by the Spirit of the Lord through you. Peace floods my soul when I listen to it. I live in the middle of a noisy, littered city in Mexico, but I can picture myself roaming carefree on the beautiful countrysides of Scotland as I sing this song. Thank you for sharing it with the world. I will give you credit as the writer. Who is singing? I would like to give credit to her, as well. Maranatha!!!
@EleanorLouise21 Hi Elle- it was nice to meet you over the phone, thanks for looking this up!- I listened to your music and you are very gifted- hope it is all going well for you, xxx
