This was written by Billy Edd Wheeler just like Jackson that Johnny and June did together. If you want to understand the genius behind some of the best loved songs in country, folk, and early rock and roll you need to visit Billy Edd Wheeler's website. He wrote Jackson, Coward of the County, Long Arm of the Law, The Reverend Mr. Black, Coal Tattoo, The Coming of the Roads, Winter Sky and numerous others. Johnny had a great voice and did this well but the lyrics belong to Billy Edd.

This is definitely an under rated song of his! I remember my dad playing the 45 for me, and it was catchier then the cold.

I love the version of "Blistered" that Johnny did at San Quentin. They had Carl Perkins in on the guitar solo. It was cool.
