I think if a newcomer to Bloc Party or someone seeing a Bloc Party video after first hearing a song has the response, "Wow, I didn't know he was black," I don't think it's necessarily wrong. Hell, I'M black (mostly) and I think that would've been my first response (and the half-Malaysian drummer, too)--that is, if I didn't see Bloc Party debut back before they were famous. Annoying at times, but not "wrong," per se. Though, what IS wrong is when folks say stupid stuff like, "Well, finally!"
