This is probably one of the longest songs Southern has ever played. The tempo was way too slow. However, as a trumpet player, I did enjoy what I heard. This is the first time I've heard this song performed on the field. If we could get some background, we might find out why they decided to stretch this version. I'm guessing rain prevented field prep for something else. Just a guess....hey, I've been.

My goodness. Talk about Poised and prepared. Notice when they hit the 2/4 measure, they stretched out the normally 2 count motion for 4 beats so it wouldn't get them off tempo. The dancers are more musical than most drum majors who direct the bands. WOW!
