heres a question to space 1999 fans, (of witch i'm proud to call myself one all that travelling on a uncontrolled moon in space would there not be a serious case among the lunar colony of vitamin c defincentcy maybe they could get tit from passing stars when main mission was around in season 1 with it's big windows. but in season 2 there not there, the new command center is under ground any way, why? if alpha was built in a crater why would you see the outside moon.

You got to love Space 1999 tv show of the 1970's! True the tv show showed what was it like in the future. Some of the Space 1999 do have items we now use but back then it was all hollywood future stuff was not real. But then again we never had a cell, or a blue tooth either. maybe some day in the future maybe Porsche will have a future 911 shape a star ship who knowns? But I would LOVE to find out mine self if I can live that dream!

First part was made with Carrara basics 2 then I downloaded Carrara 6 and used it to finish it. I am lucky, I have an intel based Mac with two monitors . I just press render and use the other monitor to watch tv or go on the net so who cares how long it takes. I also just render one sceen at a time and put it together later with video software.

Carrera is the name of the software you used? This looks like it took alot of work. How long did this all take you?

I started off with cheap old software to try out 3d.( Carrara 3D basic 2) I liked working with 3d so I ordered the newest version (Carrara 6) I got it when I was half way done with this video.( that's why it has part 1 and 2) Carrara uses the most popular formats and there are thousands of free 3d models on the web.The newer version also animates Poser models. I took 2 weeks to make including making a few models that I needed.

Thank you. The two things missing is shadows and working thrusters. I can now do shadows but I am still working on believeable thrusters.

Pretty a lot of work you did here :o

I especially liked scene in part II where ship flied over mountains - amazing shot. Those mountains look so cool! And all this stuff with CG composed with live video - that kind of thing is fascinating. I once tried myself do some - but I used different software, 3ds max and there was camera tracking stuff. I failed, nothing was done but that was very interesting. Pretty cool stuff you done with Carrara!
