This movie should have been named "Farinelli's Brother," not "Farinelli." It's really more about him than anything else. And, um, many of the scenes reenacted in this film are slanders, not history.

An entertaining film that had little to do with the real person: perhaps 10% Farinelli, 20% information known about other castrati, 20% known about Baroque opera, culture, and times, & 50% fabricated to make a "successful" screen play. For example, the scene portrayed here never happened: the so-called "dual" was in an opera house. "Farinelli" was derived from the Farina brothers who were early mentors, not from flour or pasta.
