  • just to let you know, only people you can hear is the person next to you and behind you. We blended as well as we were able to. Second of all I don't mind the comments on pitch and what not the madrigal dinner we was much better than this. And tgityty thanks alot.

-Second guy from bottom on left.

  • I would really like to know from all of you who have posted comments so far what gives you the right to do so much BASHING of theses kids? If i have offended anyone with this post I apologize but if you are going to criticize so harshly, at least start or criticism with your qualifications to critcize

  • come on so i no singing in a foreign place other than a stage is really hard but really blend maybe

  • what ever happened to BLENDING??

  • first thing i notice...no rythmn...no balance...and purity...those three things make or break an ensemble

  • "Quick, we have but a second" seemed to sacrifice pitch for volume. The style may be more spoken, but make sure that there's enough pitch that you don't sound like you're yelling. Overall great job, just work on some taller (and more pure) vowels and overall connection of breath.

  • Guys, you're pushing too much for a dark sound. Don't risk vocal damage to sound older. If we wanted to hear a group of men in their thirties, we wouldn't be watching high schoolers ;). Girls, on the very first entrance, you push on your lower notes. Don't try to belt them, it makes for nasty problems to work out later in your careers.

  • The vowels are a bit of a problem, but I don't think it's your fault. Something tells me you haven't been taught how to correctly say them. Remember that Latin (like Italian) uses pure vowels. Don't mix two vowels on your "i" and "e." Your "u" vowels are all much to "boot" and not enough "put." "Alleluia" was good after the first time you sang it, the first time it came out "AllAYluia." Also the same vowel in "hodie." Make sure it's not "hodiAY," but rather "hodie" as in "met."

  • In "Of The Father's Love" make sure to keep a good strong flow of breath. The guys and girls both waver a bit (not a vibrato, but faltering of pitch). Just make sure you are engaging your abdominal muscles and breath "from your feet." 6:10 - 6:30 was an awesome sound, just watch the girls' low notes . . . they need more breath support. Guys, you ended great, very free (could be more connected, but still well done).

  • The brightness of the vowels wasn't crazy. What was bothersome was the difference from person to person in the vowels. The Latin vowels could be taller. Words like "Domine," "Christus," and "Alleluia" are too bright. Also, singing lightly shouldn't compromise your support. The unison wavered too much in the men's part of the third song. I enjoyed listening to all of you. :) You look great too! (Mm, basses: you're highschoolers...we don't expect a huge sound, so don't try to produce one) :)

  • I agree with mrindeed and jebus, but especially jebus. Those vowels are crazy bright, especially so for a chamber group. It's Behs, not bays. And it's reh, not rey.

  • jesus watch your damn vowels...drove me crazy

plus, ya'll are pushing like crazy...let the tone flow beautifully, dont try to push that sound out

  • 1rst of all. When announcing say Pieces not songs. 1rst piece watch the blend in the Men's section. Listen to the ladies and match thier sound. Not overpower them. 2nd piece was excellent great job Sop. 1

Next father's love. Perhaps a baritone solo would be in order in the begining. Ladies match the vibrato in the unison section. Low Basses. On the lower notes,a lighter more focused sound will bring out the lower notes. 4th piece. Maybe some dynamic change. Thanks for the wonderful music.

  • Technically, they are songs. Plus, they're a high school group. "Pieces" versus "songs" isn't that big of a deal. As far as critiquing the arrangement . . . well, they probably didn't write it, so asking for a baritone solo isn't really helping.

  • awesome job everyone. i loved when i was there, can't wait for the dinner.

  • Great job!!!

  • The music is very nice!!! I luv the angle you taped it in!! 5-stars
