  • Where is this from?

  • Wait....during Bad at Live Aid....it went, "Holly from Miami FLA, hitchhiked across the USA (to LA) .... she could see the Satellite coming down, pretty soon she was in London Town, Wembley Stadium ! And the crowd went ! Only the real Eloise could figure that one out, Bono. Thanks for all the magic, television, I'll have to formulate a musical answer. What a miraculous TRUE STORY, better than the Ground Beneath Her Feet, better than Hotel, the REAL THING ! Working on my answer in LA.

  • @AmericanPlatinum The lines were taken from " Walk On The Wild Side " by Lou Reed. Bono used different words throughout the 85 tour during Bad. The band tood Satelite Of Love onto the Zoo Tour where Bono did a duet with Lou Reed.

  • Across the Satellite of Love,....from Glendale California, to Dublin Eire in letters from May to November 1984,...a prophecy about Ethiopia and the success of U2, to Bono,...from BAND AID, to LIVE AID and the World as Bono greeted me from the stage then,......"Holly hitchhiked from Miami FLA all the way across the USA (to LA !),......and then came to LA, Main and 7th atop a Liqour store to sing...."Where the Streets Have No Name". Signed, ...the Real Eloise still in Glendale, now 41. Blessed !

  • Beautiful Melody , Great Explaination , The Blending of Bible and Soul , Kinda Goes together like Lego .

  • Its so nice to see how he loves what he is doing. Great song. Thank you Bono!

  • Damn, i still love this man...

  • The man still has it.....

  • wow, this is a brilliant song...I wish they released it!

  • @beasoriani They did! When they released the re-mastered version of The Joshua Tree it came with a second CD. On it are songs like Luminous Times and this perfect pearl. It's one of the U2 songs that make my heart ache every time I hear it.

  • Should do this with all U2 songs,......

  • it touches the depths of my soul so much passion mixed in with compassion . it soothes me so and yet awakens me to rhe wave of sorrow

    blatch

  • pure pasionfor life.

  • Bono's emotion comes through weather he's singing in front of 50,000 people, or just one.

  • Thank you!

  • @kisgyuri19 learn english you idiot ,

  • What a beautiful song. I love how Bono gets so into it and emphasizes parts of the lyrics.

  • Still transcending words. God be with you.

  • que dijo?????????

  • I am stunned. I love this song. No words to describe.

  • Great video, really! I We love U Bono :)

  • This is so interesting. Bono is so passionate.

  • His passion shines through. Gotta love him.

  • He's so cute trying to explain the text, so serious and adoring.. I Love Bono! XD

And his voice is really amazing! :)

  • How did Bono get on my Ilike page (Franklin McKay) Weird stuff!

  • Pure Genius!

  • It is awesome to hear Bono singing along to his own voice. What is more awesome is his commitment to being a voice to the other wise voice less.

  • Incredable! Beautiful song...

  • it is ezample of myspace video juju

  • looks to me like its 5am in the morning party all night in bonos gaff.

  • fucking hell, this is most personal sounding song ever!!!!!!!!!

although i am im pissed so this sounds sooooooo intimate, personal etc

    u2 numero uno

    scottish u2 fan

    god bless

    love to all

  • I agree. I was surprised that Bono sang along live. It is so beautiful. "You walked through the night, to get here today. To bring your children, to give them away"

These lyrics are killing me..... He knows how to get a message accross.

  • Is this in Bono's house?

  • it is ezample of hi5 viedo

  • awesome! a man lost in the joy of his craft :)

  • These are the NEW Beatitudes spoken through BONO (Latin for VOICE)! You have done much for humanity (Africa). The man DREAMS in Music and Melodies! He's a vessel of God!

  • Bono may God continue to fulfill you wishes of giving back..your heart... truly humble my friend.

  • fantastic song

  • he looks impressed and happy about song , so natural ^^

  • Hi asshole.

If I remember correctly Bill and Melinda Gates AANNDD Bono were Time magazines people of the year a few years ago for their work on ending poverty - what the fuck have you done? If Bono has done even a speck more than you you have no room to run your mouth.

  • Oh Time Magazine eh? I heard they were REALLY reputable in academic circles...

  • I could listen to Bono talk about every song he has ever written. Maybe, when he is old, he will sit before a camera and share a little part of his inspiring thought process with some of us mere mortals. I know I have always said if I had the money I would make a difference-but Bono is really doing it. Bless him.

  • Gwenlili - get the book " A Conversation with Bono " it is fantastic and he is so honest and humble .

  • What an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL song. Can you believe 30 years later these guys are STILL creating MASTERPIECES? UNBELIEVEABLE.

    UNBELIEVABLY GORGEOUS song!

  • Bono I have loved you for a long time.Either you are a big cartoon character, or you are a man with a huge huge heart.I choose to believe the latter.Little Joe.l

  • U2 is edge

  • I like Bono. I wish he would stop by sometime. I'd make tea and we could work on a song. I used to not like U2 back in high school because my girlfriend had a crush on Larry, but after I broke up with her some friends took me to see them at JFK stadium in 1987 and I've loved them ever since.

  • Nodestudio - well said. I want to be in on that discussion also - you, I and Bono vox of o'connel st. We could solve the world.

  • to 'thetoy3' - can you actually read you bubble gum brain air head - READ THE POSTINGS BELOW YOU'RE IDIOT.

  • Yes I can read the sycophantic drivel, by what logic does that make Bono any less egotistical?

And I believe you meant to say "YOU'RE *AN* IDIOT".

You're original attempt at insulting my intelligence resulted in what may just be the most ironic sentence in the universe.

  • thetoy3 I say to you AGAIN fuckwit, actually READ the postings below. You pompous arrogant cock.

Oh how easy for those that contribute nothing to criticise those that contribute everything.

Be more than an ananomous fool...

  • I've read the posts - what exactly are they supposed to tell me? That U2 has obsessive fans? I know that already!

Are you really saying that Bono isn't egotistical?

    Explain yourself and I'll respond.

All I have here around me are people who idolise Bono and reject all damaging claims against him.

Go on - give me the thumbs down. You know you can't resist it Bono lovers!

  • thetoy3 - you are missing the point by asking the question you pose. Are we all not egotistical? Do you believe that you are not? Your ego has certainly driven you to generate hugely confrontational messages on here about someone you clearly dont like or understand, and are aimed at people who admire Bono.

Who is egotistical now dude? I'm not trying to catch you out, rather asking you try and think differently.

One of the greatest mistakes all of us make is to judge others.

  • Compare and contrast for me please.

"One of the greatest mistakes all of us make is to judge others."

"fuckwit", "You pompous arrogant cock" and "IDIOT".

Nice hypocracy. Are you a Christian by chance?

  • And are you Muslim by chance?

  • Haha, no.

    Atheist.

    I am "opiate" free.

  • learn how to spell criticize please.

  • Dude, you look rather silly making a comment like that.

What are your observations of the content of the song?

  • to the toy3 person. You didn't like being challenged on judging people did you!! Yet you do it all the time.

To answer your question, yes I like you am a hypocrite. On one hand I know that its wrong to judge others and at times, manage not to. But then when I see poorly thought through statements or ones displaying crass ignorance, I react..

There is a balance between 'judging' and 'failing to stand up for'. I hope to do the latter. What is your 'purpose' the toy3?

  • Yeah it's like when you here these Limbaugh and Hannity assholes talking about how intolerant liberals are - well the only the liberals are intolerant of is ignorance and intolerance itself.

  • Look, if you're a fan of Limbaugh and Hannity then you're a pinheaded moron - don't bother me or waste my time.

  • I am in awe of Bonos mind and spirit. I sit in a small apartment in Wisconsin and wish that I could share philosphy with others. No one would care what I would say-so I am very pleased that Bono can speak (and sing) for me. We are blessed to have hope.

  • Orson Welles was from Wisconsin and he certainly had an opportunity to share his philosophy with others. Don't lose hope.

  • Hey dude, we are listening to you and you are sharing your philosophies right now - by telling us that you love this song and apprecaite Bono's mind, tells us about you also. keep up the good work and never lose hope.

  • Myseif and Jusztiki please think twice about what you are saying - engage your heart and your mind.

One of the biggest errors we all make is to judge others - yet we are told never to do this.

You have both ASSUMED hypocracy in U2 yet you know nothing of their affairs or what they give. 'A tree is known by its fruit' and the fruit of U2 is all around you to see.

Be careful how you judge others yet fail to quetion your own actions.. or lack of actions.

  • U2 didn't move their whole business to the Netherlands, just the royalties! Think about how many taxes U2/Bono have/has to pay, everyone here would do the same, don't act as if you all wouldn't. And you know what? As far as I know, the Netherlands give a higher percentage of their BIP to Africa than Ireland does.

  • Wave of sorrow is a beautful song, Bono a beautiful soul

  • Bono never really wore a wedding ring in public. The pinky ring's been there forever.

  • Fantastic Song, Great Lyrics- Should be recorded by U2. People need to be reminded about what it's like to really suffer for lack of food when they're bitching that their Deli meat isn't cut to their satisfaction. Michele

  • amazing

  • Yes you are right. This pinky ring shows up in photos. He has two different ones in photos. This one seems to show up a lot after he Dad's passing. I always wondered if it was his Dad's. Interesting observation with Bono. Itis as if he has to talk about what is going on in his heart or he will burst. There is some very clear behaviors that are classic of high intelligence.

  • incredible. there's so much meaning for U2's songs. i almost cried imagining all of that ._."

  • Bono definitivamente é o cara!

    =D

  • i know but is that his wedding ring on his pinky finger?

  • Larry gave Bono that ring. He doesn't wear his wedding ring, he hasn't for ages actually

  • He is just...........fucking good for my ears!!!!! Bono YOU ROCK

  • Bono, is the man, he should be what everyone strives to be, geez just amazing

  • JAJJAJAJAJAJA BUENISIMOO

    CHEE

pero se perdio en algunas partes :S

  • awesome song

    awesome album

    awesome band

  • is his wedding ring on his pinky? or is he married?

  • fuck he is a legend

  • Well, if u don't like those...then don't bother watching. At at least try to do something better... go clean some boots or something!

  • or he shud get on his boots aaaaaaaah

  • Bono is leaving his mark on history. And what a mark it is.

  • i love his voice, he realy is amazing!

  • here's some feedback: I LOVE IT!

bono is great, he is just an amazing person and humanitarian, i know i cant say that enough but it's true

  • I would love to get high with him

    Can you imagine the conversations?

Whether or not you like his music, how can you condemn him for his humanitarian efforts?

  • yeah it wasXD i copy pasted it 2 ^^

  • am this is on hi5 ÷page O_o

  • This video reminds me of those porn movies when a guy is asking questions about what does the girl like to do, before they start to have sex. "Can you show me your ass? Aha, sure!" Anyway, Bono is so honest... Great guy!

  • where is bono in this video?

  • His house at a guess.

  • all together this one has to be performed live at thier nest show in the set-list encore section next to Red Hill mining town excellent Joshua song!!! my fingers are crossed on that go for it U2

  • Red Hill Mining Town....what I'd give to hear that live! One of my very favorite songs of all time.

  • stateless buzz me up talk to me

  • COOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

  • beautiful lyrics B

  • Great voice, great personality, great person...

  • Sorti de l'album au mois de novembre!!!!!

  • Think you'll find U2 donate a damn site more to charity than most! Dyor. The fact that the man writes re the the state of the world & the fact that half the world can't walk far ejnough to feed themselves doesn't mean he's responsible for writing off the thrield world debt (although he tries hard to persuade our great governments to do so)!! If you don't like the fact they're successful don't buy their records - buy those of all the bands who are so charitable with their money lol!

  • i agree, bono's a pox

  • What means pox?

  • it's a type of disease, but in this context i'm really callin him a prick

  • Viva capitalism!!!!! Now we can see what kind of trouble it brings..........Except in the most socialist state in West Europe : France!

  • What a beautiful Heart he has...A Modern Day Prophet to be sure!

  • At the end, he trips on his owns lyrics! Great song! Bestr band ever......I luv u bon and france is waiting for you to see on stage

  • World,I love you!!!))

  • i love bono i love U2 no u2 no life

  • Bono...man of act...great musician...and great person...

  • God.

  • fantastic.

  • I love U2 because they can make one hell of a record and its not just a bunch of crap spewed over great music, Bono, you are a phenominal writer and singer, I love the words to Wave Of Sorrow but the music is just OK. In the name of love, New years day, Sunday Bloody Sunday are songs that have alot to say and the music is slamming. You follow your gut but I'm thinking remix.

  • yeah, it's just okay thats why it never made it on the album or even a B-side, but it's good enough to think about releasing. Just watch, they will re-master it and it will turn out great.

  • Bono=LEGEND

  • fuck hes a ledgend.

  • i love you Bono

Mexico is waiting for for you an for U2

  • It is so real, true. We feel it, we feel the emotion. U2 know how to translate emotions into songs. This is why so many people likes them.

I'm one of them, the only band I still listen too... 20 years... I think when I'll die, I'll still hear their songs over and over in my head.

  • anyone have any source for updates "of in the studio" progress anything at all on u2 checked their site checked interference any bit of info would be great guys.

  • SHOW !!!!!

  • He wrote the words 20 years later!

  • wow wow this is u2? wow!

  • no just bono

  • Bono requested feedback on this track, so I will give it to him. Excellent, just like 99.9% of U2 stuff. They are one of the greatest.

  • Where is the "Joshua Tree - cowboy- bono"?

  • Barb wire to KEEP PEOPLE OUT... Unreal!

The Man was umongst EVIEL and had VISIONS!

Waves from the heat "hell's own hill"!

BONO the new CELTIC KING to bring PEACE to the EARTH!

    Skelleton figures!

WAVE of Prayer! Can only save us in a time like THIS! "The HOUR is getting LATE!"

    WAVE of SOund, LIGHT, ENERGY!

CHRIST is Speaking the NEW BEATITUDES through BONO's (Latin) Voice. Your BAND is TRUE SENERGY- the parts are greater as a whole!!

I have been bleesed to hear your music

  • omg, this song is just fantastic and the singing phenomenal... the lyric is so strong... u2 is the best band ever, cant wait for the next album!!

  • great song alaround would have been terrific if it was performed on the Joshua tour back then has it's own tempo!! just like "Deep In The Heart" perfect songs they still have to perform Red Hill mining Town sometime soon total outstanding surprise if they did!!!

  • they should perform more of their songs on stage more often. Ultraviolet is one of the best songs ever written, ditto Acrobat, but they don't perform them enough. and i agree with joanna (btw- HEWSON any relation?!)he comes from a pretty humble background, and i have infinite respect for people who make their own blazing trail and inspire others to do the same.

  • he's so cute...like a nice kid:) you woldn't want to see bono different, believe me...he's so cute arghhh! stop judging him, cos' if u judge him you're a f***in' idiot...he worked a lot to become what he is AND HE PUTS SOUL IN IT...so shh

  • I love what Bono creates. He truly sees the world with a different set of lenses. He creates from an open heart. Inspirational. And Cool. He's the best of both worlds.

    Love Peace

  • fucking bono his like MiLIIONARE who knws perhaps even billionre is'nt he. i like bono's shades their awseom(EMPORIO Armani)but anyways yeah i like the song is really good i like it al lot i mean i Love it good job Sir.Bono

  • Bono, u are amazing... I love his voice/vocals! He is a grand humanitarian. :)

  • He has gone to the President about this. As far as I know, he's talked to the last two presidents about Africa. However, Congress is so self-centered that it won't do all it can to help ease the suffering of the poor. I've researched this issue and there is so much that needs to be done and so many people are trying to help, but we need real government backing. And is it so terrible to enjoy his success? He shouldn't need to become homeless. Would you?

  • Bono shhh...Im trying to hear bono sing!

  • I didn't like it at first but now I think it's an awesome song. And he sounds great singing on top of it.

  • Mais uma linda canção, por isso é que eu gosto dos U2! ;)

  • How can somebody be so insecure and immature like this? You are definitely bad loved...

Go make something good on you life
