@iluvkms I don't know what comment you're referring to, but to be fair, that person's right. The term "soldier" only refers to someone in the Army (and National Guard by extension). "Airman" is the proper term for a member of the Air Force ("Sailor" = Navy, "Marine"= Marines, "Coast Guardsman/Coastie" = Coast Guard). If your brother is in the Air Force he knows this and it's unlikely he would be offended by it.
