Thanks for the feedback. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I really like the style, which originated in Polynesia over a thousand years ago. Mostly I wanted to be able to rig single handed in a few minutes (~6) and be able to reef instantly. I haven't been able to clock the speed much, and unfortunately I haven't sailed much yet with other Hobies. From the little side by side sailing I can say it is not quite as fast as a standard rig, although it has particularly nice power on a broad reach. If you are a high octane sailor and don't want to instantly reef you will want to take the time to set up the standard rig.

how fast can u sail with the crab claw?

I don't like the crab claw sails...their too...unatural.
