  • That guy is Takeshi, right ???

  • The whole point of being a true samurai was to be able to kill with ONE strike. So, they weren't dancing around each other, waving swords like banners and doing fancy feet. The real samurai prided themselves on getting straight down to business.

  • all of you obviously are forgetting the scene in the Princess bride where Inigo Montoya takes out 4 dudes in 5 seconds.

  • I saw a film where the ending duel was a quick draw - the guy 'who-did-not-win' drew and was going for a downward cut while the guy 'who-won' drew and cut upward at the same time in one motion. His draw and cut was much quicker. That was a 1/2 second final fight.

  • apparently you haven't watched Yo Jimbo, much faster fights

  • that was his script in his Kimono XD

  • actualy real duels only lasted 2.3 seconds

  • this is actually closer to how a real samurai duel would go than any movie i have seen.

  • @KDrhymes2sick I was about to say something similar. To me it looks more realistic than most other duels I've seen in movies. This would have been VERY likely to happen in a real battle, one wrong move and you're dead in the blink of an eye.

  • that shit....

  • @hiroichi87 It' zatouichi. I think that's how it's spelled. Search that and I'm sure you'll find it.

  • @TakehashiMishi Zatoichi - one of my favourite movies :)

  • so close to being authentic, if only they had gotten rid of that damn crossing blades nonsense

  • What is this movie? I need to see it

  • The audio effects on the sword impacts add an amazing amount of power and weight to the feeling of this scene. The bloodsplosion is cool, too, but the bass and the reverb in the sound effects really sell this thing.

  • ZATOICHI Shintaro Katsu Very Fast!

  • The sword figth scene in the "Seven Samurai" was much quicker.

  • Depicted exactly how it was.

  • The real samurai fights only lasted 5 seconds

  • This is probably how it really happens.

  • @Gunner3210 Well, yeah. Two guys dancing around with swords is for entertainment. Every slight cut The Bride got in Kill Bill would have been fatal IRL.

  • Reminds me of my battles :P I win too quickly

  • Ah Takeshi, we love you.

  • i find it funny the master is always small in every movie or even in real life lol

  • EPIC FAIL!!! :D

  • Not the fastest- Sanjuro has the fastest- the end scene.

  • @caricatureking I concur. The duel at the end of Sanjuro is faster by far, as well as technically superior.

  • @caricatureking Seconded

  • I loved this version of Zaitoichi. I actually saw it in the theaters while I was living in Japan.

  • this fight is way too long comparing to real fight. 1 wave - 1 kill.

  • @BlackTigerAP Bollocks.

  • Swords sound NOTHING like that while being unsheathed. Or while doing anything else, for that matter.

  • @ComradeAlpharius I find it funny that that is your only gripe with this scene.

  • @ComradeAlpharius but would it be as cool if it DIDN'T sound sharp?

  • oh okay thank you

  • @benjaminfranklin1984 Indeed it is. It's one of my favorites.

  • The movie is Zatoichi (1995 I think)

  • stab stab stab >:3

  • what movie is this ?

  • @benjaminfranklin1984 It's "Zatoichi, The Blind Samurai" (2003)

  • and that's about how long actual duels lasted at most.

  • 2nd fastest.

  • the boss battle from Sanjuro is faster in terms of the time it take for him to draw his sword and cut down his opponent. This clip from the new "Zatoichi" film is actually longer then what the clip shows the yojimbo fights more enemies before this particular piece.

  • keep pressing 8 for kool aid blood mix

  • why you skip the part before this??

  • That was supposed to be a boss fight?

BULLSHIT, I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

  • This was indeed a cool clip, but what about the boss battle from Sanjuro?

  • Very fast!

  • I thought that guy was going to lose but he won.
