  • Stephen Fry struggles to remove tongue from the Royal arse(

  • Thumbs up for Stephen fry for world leader!!

  • Its one of life's irony's that Fry, an atheist, espouses more Christian principals and benevolence than most theological practioners, brilliant speaker.

  • @midcitygym this sounds honestly buddhist more than anything; the detachment from goals, desires, etc leading to bliss and contentment with reality. Though I don't think any philosophy really says to not have goals all together, but not to be emotionally attached to such ideas.

  • @mgsbtardis smart

  • Don't set goals? Are you kidding? This sounds like the confessions of a failure.

  • @Silver44Guy are you talking about Stephen Fry!? What have you achieved compared to him?

  • @Silver44Guy are you a retard? like an actual handicap person?

I would say you are if you really think you are smarter than him, what the fuck have you achieved in your life with goal setting, or in general at all? lol

  • We shouldn't be introspective?

  • He is in Hobbit 2012.

    World rejoice !

  • The editing at 8:20, in context, is incredible. 'I' do Love Stephen Fry.

  • I'm straight, and Stephen Fry is the only man I'd allow to sodomize me. Anyone who disagrees and just thinks I'm a secret gay, obviously isn't familiar with the sheer awesome that is Stephen Fry.

  • @CAMERABOI A brave comment and one that I totally understand.

I have spoken with Stephen at his worst and watched him at his best.

    I love the man.

He has all the answers of a wonderful future for the human race whilst also having a compendium of knowledge of the past. But still allows us to judge for ourselves and grow at our own pace - without becoming impatient or pushy.

Lack of clarity he hates but that's cool.

    It's simply inspirational.

    Yes , absolutely awesome.

  • @petecockcroft Yeah, I've been a fan of Fry's for a few years now and I'll just found out about the "worst times". In a weird saddistic way it's made me a bigger fan because I can relate and understand. (that's probably what tipped him over the line to be eligible for "sodomizing" lol) Next time you speak with him, send him back to Sydney!

  • If you ever read this Stephen Fry, i want you to know that you helped me to help other people in all corridors of life.

  • I love how brilliant he is. Would love to have conversation with him.

  • 6:30

  • Charmed that he remembered autistics.

  • 3:10 - Stephen Fry associates with the Master? We need the Doctor.

  • I wish I would have heard this this guy a long time ago...

  • i only have a right speaker...

  • damnit you cut him mid-sentence

  • Terrible advice for somebody like me, who hates working and wishes a giant rock would soar through space and crash into the planet, killing this sick species. I'm trying though.

  • This is a particularly good video to watch with the snowfall overlay.

  • Hello left ear.

  • "Dont expect people to care"

  • I love him ! I wish i could speak with him, or meet more people like him :)

  • wow. he is amazing. and he really shows how stupid people are who say atheism will destroy morality. He has better morals then many christians.

  • @BrionyMae amen!! :-) Am so with you on that! :-)

  • fantastic wisdom, at times a rant. just wonderful!

  • Qu'est ce qu'il est bien ce mec !

  • I have watched countless episodes of QI, I try to like him, but to me he is just abrasive. I thought it might just be the basic difference between the English and Americans but I like a lot of English actors and comedians. Without a cadre of writers he also fails to display the brilliance everyone seems to give him credit for.

  • @thebigdawg61 normally i'd tell you to get fucked but since this is a stephen fry video i won't

  • @Daleksaresupreme1

Why, because he holds a different opinion to you?

  • @thebigdawg61 I suppose that's the thing about taste, everyone is entitled to their own preferences. I can understand why you'd think that way, but you'll find that anyone willing to given their views on things will be disliked by some, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's just human nature.

  • How Ironic I'm listening to Stephen talking about modern technologies in mono.

  • @soulvibe2007 Isn't it stereo with only one channel used? Anyway i get your point.

  • Comment removed

  • all artist should start a comment with i because i is all they can know

  • My wife had a bad headache and started complaining, I said "Oh Christ, I am sure it is terrible for you, dear, but shut up." Now I have no girlfriend... Thanks

  • Agreeable words

  • im introverted and i always will be, the same as steven fry will always be queer. i have to say that iv found being around people some of the most miserable experiences iv had. i dont want to become extroverted, its something extroverts like to think that we introverts want to be like them, we dont. iv no intent on entering the massive popularity contest that is society, iv found in life that the most popular people are normally the biggest arseholes, i enjoy being creative painting/songwriting

  • @MCshlthead The same is true for me as well. I'm not terribly outgoing myself, nor do i really want to be. I'd much rather sit on my couch and write and watch youtube videos and stuff than, say, go partying at that hot new club in the city or something like that.

  • He is extraordinarily insightful and erudite.

  • One thing I have recently come to realise in my 55 years is that is OK for a heterosexual man to love another man,and I love Stephen Fry!

  • amazing words of wisdom

  • THIS VIDEO NEEDS 50,000,000 VIEWS. NOT BRITNEY SPEARS-I WANNA GO....

  • Such great and wise words by Stephen here. What an amazing guy. Wonderful video. james:)

  • Fuck...I would love to meet this man! Such a genius

  • This saved me

  • Oh ho ho my god 6:30 is the funniest thing ever!!

  • Fantastic

  • Best example of evolved humanity on the planet. Kudos to Stephen Fry.

  • of course it`s good to hear the many similarities in thoughts and attitudes towards different subjects I found with my own whenever I listen to a person as likeable as wonderful Stephen Fry. Thank you.

  • Such clarity of thought. Fry you really are extraordinary.

  • I love him to death =)

  • he's so right about the goals

  • every neighborhood should have one..

  • truly , he is the messiah !

  • Setting goals is fine. The problem is WHY we set the goals we set. For instance, if your mom needs surgery but can't afford it, and neither can you afford it, you might set a goal and work hard toward getting enough money to get her the surgery. That is a wholesome goal which I think destiny will support as you work toward it. Problem is we're a bunch of intellectual animals running around setting nothing more than self-centered, egotistical goals. There is little love in our daily motivations.

  • @ruttergod

Well said. And yes, there is too much "me, me, me" everywhere.

  • Unrecomendation Engine. Brilliant!

  • Stephen, you are a marvellous person. Nothing else can be said. :)

  • The left speaker on my headphones is broken. For fuck's sake.

  • @SkrateBeastin Haha same xD

  • @SkrateBeastin I believe you have your headphones on wrong since my right one is broken and i have it on the right way :P

  • Pity the thumbnail on this shows Stephen picking his nose.

  • As an egocentric idiot, this inspired me :)

  • Hugs and love to Stephen and everyone- and I love the long hair on him in this!

  • Why does stephen fry care so much about being liked,

life isn't about being like life is about living, being nice to each other,

some people are introvert some extrovert, we all have different opinions that's what makes it fun, why just do things to be liked

watching this makes people feel 10 again Oh OH no people won't like me.

he did say a few great things and one was definitely talk to more people and be nice to each other and the more people you talk to the more you get out of life :)

  • @fairandjustified The only way to truly mirror yourself is in others. Seeking happiness through others is the greatest accomplishment one can hope to achieve on a basic level.

  • @arsbroct I agree, with that, although to feel strong in ones own mind with wisdom, which one can share with others as a leader and a equal all at once, comes from the ability to know ones self entirely and to know ones self entirely while being able to share ones self with others is also one of the greatest things a human being can achieve, thank you for your inspirational comment :)

  • @fairandjustified But how does one truly get to know oneself? Finding ones self comes from reflecting on ones experiences through interaction with others. The more you allow yourself to interact, the greater will your personal experience be, so that you may learn from it.

  • @arsbroct while conversing and stimulating the mind with speech, the interactive outer senses are provoked in to responding to stimulation with another human being, while the inner being is also engaged in this interaction at a responding and engaging level, the inner being the higher self is seldom engaged in that situation.

although often is the case, while a human becomes solitary, does the mind, soul and spirit become engaged, while thought and extra sensory, fulfillment begins to take shape

  • @fairandjustified I was not implying the reflection is simultaneous to the experience itself, but from processing the experience, you may learn from it. Solitude can only teach you things based on the experiences you already have. This is the truth.

  • @arsbroct try and meditate for a while, opening the penial gland the third eye, meditation opens the higher senses, while meditating you will find much more then you ever though existed

we as humans are forced to exept stimuli from external influence, much as exploration of space ignores the exceptional secret hidden places on earth, so does mans ability to ignore its inner self while experiencing external influence.

while exploring as an individual, great hidden worlds will appear :)

  • @fairandjustified What I said is still true. You cannot meditate on the significance of being, without a canvas to explore, or a contrast to discover. A child who is born in darkness shall only know darkness.

  • Lol this was an epic rant. I think everybody realizes at one point in life that life is about the journey not the destination. After all, the ultimate destination is death. It's hard to realize this but as long as you have the basic necessities to be happy it comes down to enjoying the moment.

There, now read my post if you can't be bothered listening to this middle aged rant because that's all he's really saying. I'm 18 and I've only recently realized this but it really helps.

  • @sethkasketch The bankrupted one perhaps?

  • 4:40 This from a man who updates his life every five minutes on Twitter? Isn't 'Tweeting' one of the most egocentric and self-important activities one can engage in? Tell me, what is the root for 'hypocritical'?

  • @chairpersonmeow i think he does inform and share his knowledge by tweeting, more then being an egocentric " I ".i personally dont know whats in his heart to judge him ,but its very correct what he said.

  • What? WHAT is very common!

  • What a load of shite stephen..."Happiness comes from looking inside not out" "To be successful you have to look out not in"

    Crap.

  • who is this guy never heard of him but he is very interesting.

  • @phraedusthamusicdigr Very famous British actor, comedian, screenwriter, etc...

  • @phraedusthamusicdigr Not very interesting. Quite interesting.

  • @phraedusthamusicdigr

    He is a Renaissance man

  • "who would you want to hug more?"

when i heard this i straight away said,

    "STEPHEN FRY!!"

    :P xx

  • he doesnt only agree with the things that i believe, but opens my mind to new ideas altogether! love you stephen :D xx

  • "the worst thing you can do is set yourself goals" GOSH is that true and i wish i was told this years ago when i was young (instead of the exact opposite again&again), would have saved myself a lot of grief

  • He;s very egocentric for a non-egocentric person

  • I'm looking for the part where he talks about people who say they are unimpressed. If anyone could help me find that, it would be much appreciated.

  • Stephen Fry is just so darn cute...

  • we all have a will to get liked, we all are afraid not to be liked.

those who do not have these things are the ones that will not not liked.

those who conquer these things are the ones that become great leaders.

those who embrace and study these things become great minds.

  • he's just so wonderful ! smart and funny and insightful -- was PERFECT as Oscar Wilde-- wouldn't it be great if our political leaders were men like him?

  • I love him :D he's amazing

  • I could listen to this guy for hours without getting bored in the slightest.

  • we are huggable and lovable and we want to love and be loved

  • my left ear very much enjoyed this

  • @Tundravalcoz

    That proves one thing!

I have my headphones in the wrong way round.

  • @Tundravalcoz

ahhh thank you I thought i was going mad.

  • @Tundravalcoz xD !!!!

  • @Tundravalcoz Oh sh..... I have my left speaker on the right side... which is also the wrong side...

  • @Tundravalcoz You just made me realize my speakers are on the wrong sides...

  • @jag305 Same thing happened to me. Way slammed to the right.

  • hmmmmm i think steve is wrong here about this friend thing. i know of many horrible people who are very very popular and many nice good hearted people who havent got 2 friends to rub together.

  • @MCshlthead yes but the "popular" people you speak of are simply people surrounded by others that yearn to be like that person. people simply with a mentality that looks up to the alpha male or woman, and make it their goal to EG be adored, have money, popular with the opposite sex etc.

  • @MistaMase102 ok thats maybe, so how can you say that isnt true for all popular people??? and why are some nice people so inherently unpopular???

  • You called him out on it? What did he say? Your self important delusions are sad.

Ill-informed: you said he was born into a very rich family; he wasn't. You said he spent his youth in jail; he didn't. You demonise him for having been fat (he isn't now); that's incredibly ignorant. He hasn't used drugs for decades. And to call one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people on the planet "dumb" is too stupid for words.

    That's all pretty ill-informed, I'd say.

  • @queenastilon His teenage years: getting beaten up at boarding school. He knows the real world. If you read a few of his books or watch some of his documentaries - about AIDS victims in the poorest regions of Africa, for instance - you would find out a little of what he knows.

It is well known that he is kind to a fault.

What he says about goals is known. Even Jesus said we should have no care for the morrow.

You trolls: nasty bugs in the otherwise glorious salad that is the Internet.

  • Oh God this man... <3

  • All this talk as if Fry is some thug who won the jackpot. If he was innately odious he'd still be a criminal. This is clearly a case of a troubled (and to a certain extent oppressed) but talented young man, discovering a means of creativity and self expression. Once he mixed with similarly high functioning individuals surrounded by a vast archive of knowledge to stimulate him, he became hooked on good honest work. It means with lots of dedication and a bit of luck, you can turn your life around.

  • Stephen Fry has the best hair. Loves it.

  • shame most people arent even worth knowing.

  • Everyone associates him to Steve Jobs.

And even though that's only partitially true, steve jobs saved and built the greatest film studio ever: Pixar.

  • I LOVE YOU S MUCH!

  • @pinochet222 What exactly about his life would you classify as "not real"? Your hostility to the man is curious.

  • @pinochet222 You mean the bipolar homosexual who grew up in a time where neither bipolarity nor homosexuality was socially acceptable? No, his life was probably a dance on roses.... And if you have seen this entire segment and actually listened, it should be apparent to you that his attitude towards money and fame is nothing like the spoiled brat you make him out to be.

  • @Midnyte100 Let's also throw in Jew and grandson of immigrants, neither of which won him any popularity contests growing up. I think pinochet222 completely misunderstands Stephen's early life if he thinks it was easy being so much the outsider in the 1960's and 70's.

  • @pinochet222 shut up you tosser.

  • @pinochet222 you obviously don't know anything about him, so your opinion is completely invalid and ridiculous. he was struggling with his homosexuality in schools and particularly a time when it was totally frowned upon. he was bipolar and suffered through a lot of depression, i don't see how being brought up well and having a education at notoriously good schools makes you a spoiled teenager.

  • @raveemaster what do you mean "brought up well"? he had spent his youth in JAIL for credit card theft!

You Fry fanatics are incredibly ignorant and completely fucking insane ...

  • @pinochet222 He did a 3 month term when he was 18 and foolish, not his entire youth, it´s clear who´s ignorant around here. Moron.

  • @pinochet222 To summarise: you make an ill-informed comment and when corrected you accuse those who know a great deal more than you do about the subject of being "incredibly ignorant and completely fucking insane..."

That's a nice demonstration of the expression 'adding insult to injury'. It's a very nasty habit, too. You need to work on that.

  • @pinochet222

Wow, you seem like a very unhappy person. As for Stephen Fry being 'dumb' you really can't be serious..if you are, you know nothing about him and haven't watched his programs, documentaries or read any of his books, or any of his debates. Or even looked into him in the slighest for that matter..

Yes, he used to be a drug addict. Your point being? Many amazing thinkers have been addicts, just look at Sigmund freud, he was a paranoid cocaine addict.

  • @pinochet222 What do you know about real life ?

Mind making a video to share your wisdom ?

  • Fry was right (as always) at the time when he said that the long hair made him look like James May's sister. Then again, even if his hair was *something randomly odd* he would still occupy the penthouse in my heart.

That sounded cheesy, but you know what I mean =P

  • Waht a words of wisdom now let's spread the word world!!! and spread the kindness

  • Why this video doesn't have 10 million views yet is beyond me.

  • I'm amazed how this guy can always recontextualize well-accepted concepts and force me to rethink things I thought I knew. His point about goal-orientation is obviously right--anyone can see that...now; but that had never occurred to me before, and yet it's so important. Also his books are great and he's really funny.

  • I know again why I love Stephen Fry. :)

  • I wish I could afford to travel :(

  • could you please upload the rest? just love his wisdom :-)
