So i have a full metal dboys m4 which should be a clone of an older classic army like this. I sanded the nub but it seems my charging handle is still catching onto something even without a fake bolt.

@killshot2247 Well i would suggest some tactical gear, and extra magazines for your guns. If you have no guns start ou with either a springer or a cheap electric. Just to start to learn about airsoft stuff. Like gearboxes, pistins, hop-up, just stuff like that. You know, so yea.

@Iget0wnedI you see that thing at 3:08 he pushes into place? the charging handle is designed to be pulled back and drop that to be ready to fire or to unjam anything inside the weapons barrel.

@airsofter43 usually no, its just there to match any real steel gun. but on some guns it does reveal the hop up dial.

@MACER545 for $200, your options are fairly limited seeing as jg and other chinese companies arent producing guns at the moment. your best bet for a reliable and affordable airsoft gun would be the matrix tactical system m4, the m100 spring version. it is $200.

Will this work on the new JG m4a1's? And do you need to have the fake bolt removed to do this or will it move back with the charging handle?(It didn't look like you have the little bolt plate in yours.)

i really dont recommend doing this to m4/m16s that have working fake bolts. it lay lead to unintended damage. its best to do this to CA's or G&G's.

no, the nub at he top of the gearbox has nothing to do with is reinforcement strenght.

i dont see why it wouldnt. just remember you run the risk of stretching your charging lever spring.

i do not recommend this on a dpms m4. i recently worked on one of those and found it to be low quality. additionally, the charging handle on that model is plastic and the spring would not survive long being pulled back that far. also, the extra scress on the spring screw would force it to break.

If you do this to a g&p m16/m4 the charging handle spring will overstretch and you must change the spring.

yah i did it to my agm m16 and i overstretched the spring now i have to wait 2 weeks for my new charging handle set to come
