@hoplite46 Not sure about this particular model, however in the past the Valkarye engines had a few minor differences from those of the Gold Wings. One example was solid lifters on the Valkarye as opposed to hydrolic in the Wing. Same overall engine design though.

What the hell are you talking about? Valks and GW's have overhead cams. There are no lifters....Same motor, different tranny gears, different cams, different fuel system. That's it.

i own a 2004 blk cherry rune from new. i also have 2 h-d's, softail and fatboy. love them and put a fortune into them in chrome etc.

but not 1 dollar more to the rune.

still get more looks on it then the h-d's.

u see a big alot in so-cal, BUT the rune is beautiful , runs great, (except for the quiet exhust), and ALWAYS gets a CROWD around it.

Rune? M109? Nah! try looking at the classic and rare Yamaha GTS1000. One of the best motorcycles to ever come out of Japan and by far the nicest looking. Thats why its the only Japanese motorcycle to make it in the GUGENHEIM Museum of Modern Art.

Pissed off the 1520 Valkyrie owners (most of us anyway). We wanted another more refined Valkyrie F6 with the FI 1800 motor. What Honda gave us was this over the top ....cant think of a noun at this moment.  If honda had stuck that motor into the F6 chassis it would had a real winner. Instead the build this overpriced limited production machine and gave us the VTX (thanks Honda, the world really needed another V-Twin).

Great video but the Rune was unfortunately a complete failure for Honda. I liked the Valkyrie and the Rune was alright but they just never caught on. You can still find the new Runes getting dusty years later at many Honda dealers that got stuck with them.
