Judging from the size of your capacitors, i would say that 1 of your capacitors can store around 4J of energy. So it would be no surprise if 1 cap can run the light for 4 seconds. Taking 8 in parallel increases it to 32 seconds. Your light never ran for more than this period, so no energy is generated.
