@balaehnun U will ruin your enamel since the baking soda is an abrasive matter.U'll scratch the surface of the teeth making it an easy target for decay and subsequently for cavities.Just be patient and do it once or twice a week and the results will come in about a month or so.Try mixing baking soda with hydrogen peroxide and a dollop of toothpaste and brush with that once a week...maybe twice.Works nice.

In your profession you should know the importance of fluoride. Don't use Listerine, Use a mouthwash that actually contains Fluoride. Listerine's small amount of fluoride does not help, is almost equal the amount fluoride that's in tap water. So find one with at least 0,2% Fluoride.

Well I have a questions for you ...

I have naturally "yellowish" teeth. I tried the baking soda, but it did not do anything for me. I do not have stains (I brush like 3 times a day and get my teeth cleaned once a year by my dentist). So my teeth are really clean. Can you tell me if the hydrogen peroxide could make my teeth lighter? Or do you think teeth whitening strips would help? Please give me some advice!

@mags9158...hydrogen peroxide can be used as an oral rinse..and most of the teeth whitening at home kits you see in drug stores have hyrdrogen peroxide listed in the ingredients..the only way i can imagine it being harmful is if you swallow it..which would be pretty dumb

Yeah whatever you do dont swallow it! When dogs eat a lot of chocolate or something else poisonous to their system, you have to force feed them a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to induce vomitting. Really ive had to do it to my dogs before. Its not a pretty sight.

It does work. It works JUST as well as the Crest whitening strips but takes longer. Like, anywhere from weeks/months later depending on how often you use it and the degree of staining on your teeth. You can't use it everyday because your teeth will get sensitive. The Crest white strips whiten faster. But you may also have to limit your use of the strips to every other day like my sister did due to sensitivity. Hope that was helpful :)

@mags9158 - Nope. There are no studies whatsoever that have proven it to be negative if used in a method similar to this. If it were full strength H2O2 then yes, but the stuff you buy at the store is usually around 2% hydrogen peroxide and 98% water.
