  • @adiostraitorobama funny that you say that when you obviously looked up the video in the first place.

  • I used to think they were so badass cause they broke bottles on train tracks, biked in front of traffic & took little girls off the see-saw...man it must feel good to be a gangster...

  • The name of this song is *Pete's Song*

  • It could be called "pete's song" as an alternative name, but technically it's called 'dreams of a better day' which is stated on the Buttercream gang DVD as well as several websites for the movie.

    =)

  • Thanks for the info, my musical copy of the melody says Pete's song. However it does make sense that the song titile may have changed or have an alternative title.

  • @annejmacaco, I havent been able to find the dvd. This is the funniest movie I've ever seen!!!

  • I think if people would learn from this movie they can better themselfs and those around them.. like a lost friend that just needs a hand and a place to call home.

  • the first time i saw this movie was over 10 years ago. was good to see it again tho i am 19. Just goes to show that it doesn't matter your age you still can learn or relearn some of the simplest things to help a friend in need . even if it would take a whole summer.

  • Aw, I love this movie! I haven't seen it since I was about 8. =( I need to buy it.

  • "Dreams of a Better Day" was written by Kurt Bestor, but it's actually performed by Judd Maher. :) Just wish I could find it on mp3!

  • Yeah XD I just couldn't remember his name! thanks for posting! =)

  • OMG! I don't even know what to say! This song means so so much to my siblings and I! We too have been looking forever! It seems that eveyone has fond memories of this movie and the song huh! Thank you so much!

  • I have the movie at home and I would watch it all the time and rewind this part and song over and over

  • Oh man! My sister and I would always tape this song on our tape recorder during this part of the movie. We can still sing every word of it! Hearing it now, I can hear a big Cat Stevens influence, and maybe James Taylor too. It's legitimately a good song, even being in such a silly movie (which will always have a place in my sis and I's hearts.) Now I'm reading more about Kurt Bestor and I'd like to see him perform sometime. Thanks for posting!

  • yea i always think of 'peace train' from cat stevens when i hear this song

  • Dude, thank you. I love this song. Brings back good memories.

  • thanks for posting this! I have been trying for ever to get a copy, I even emailed the composer and his agency could not locate a copy to send me! You rock.
