The fact is that most of the churches around then, while most of them didn't agree to mass murder and extermination of the Jews, were okay with the Nazis depriving Jews of civil rights & oppressing them. Hitler killed blacks, the disabled, Mormons, Jehovah Witness, Gypsies, etc. The rise of Hitler and this extreme form of anti-Semitism was a result of desperate people, wanting to blame someone for their bad fortunes. Who better to blame then the cultural minorities..
My point is this: this was by no means a religious war. It was sparked by previous damage (WW1) inflicted to Germany's national pride.

I mentioned burning at the stake because that is what the church liked to do when they held real power, as you point out in the dark ages. My point was Bill is free to state his views because we are NOT a Christian nation, if the opposite were the case than he would not be free to state his beliefs.
