Also, I personally love it since I take much advantage out of it.

I ran out of music on my ipod to listen to, and I'm way to lazy to spend hours and hours searching through different blogs, sites, forums, videos, etc to find new artists I like.

I love what I hear when I watch Skins, so getting all the music from that series just launches me into a new network of artists.

I love shows for their soundtracks, they open so many doors to new music

People get mad because they want to be hipster and be the only exclusive person to know about said band or whatever.

Its the same thing when you find out someone else likes the same obscure hidden thing you do...you covet it for yourself and get jealous.

Or it could be out of a fear that something will become tainted by the mainstream. It is very easy for something good to become less good because of mainstream influences.
