I'm afraid with the height extension of the horse's neck and head shows that his back is hollow, he needs to be taught with his neck arched and head low or the muscles won't form right along his spine or the sides of his neck
@MyHorsePrince This treadmill is a diagnostic tool used by vets at Cornell to identify & treat conditions of the upper respiratory tract, such as laryngeal hemiplegia. This particular horse, for instance, has a pacemaker implant in her throat to stimulate the paralyzed arytenoid cartilage. The treadmill is not used for training purposes. Thanks for playing.
@EmmaBee everything you just said is completely irrelevant to my observation. it doesn't matter what you are using the treadmill for, the position that the horse is holding it's neck and head is wrong and the muscles will form irregularly. many horses hold their head as in this video and are a prime example of how a horse should not be taught how to hold their head. thanks for playing.
@MyHorsePrince It's not irrelevant. She is not being trained. Do you only turn your horse out in a surcingle and side reins, to make sure his muscles don't "form irregularly?" This horse is not being trained to do anything new; she is part of a demonstration of how a diagnostic tool works. From the way you talk about "holding their head" and "arching their neck," it sounds like you still have plenty to learn about self-carriage and true collection.
@EmmaBee I have not nor am I suggesting in any way that this horse is currently in training. I don't know where you have even gotten that information. all I have said is that this horse PREVIOUSLY has been taught to hold it's head wrong and in the FUTURE needs to be trained to hold it's head right. I am not saying that RIGHT NOW this horse is being training to do anything. and no, I have a degree in natural horsemanship and am in the business of teaching people to do just this. the way a horse
@EmmaBee holds it's head is very important on how the muscles will form along the neck, shoulders, and spine. the neck should be parallel to to the spine and the nose should be parallel with the ground. thank you for attending, I hope you have learned something. if you haven't, then you're not the first to be unable to grasp a logical concept.
@EmmaBee just to give you a visual of what I am explaining, please search for the video "Hartpury College 2009 - ESMA - Treadmill Gallop" and observe the way the horse holds it's neck and head, then compare it to the way Abby is holding it's neck and head. the Hartbury horse is correct in comparison to Abby.

@MyHorsePrince You should have said you had a degree in natural horsemanship right off the bat, then I wouldn't have bothered with you at all!

@MyHorsePrince Google "parallel vs. perpendicular" so that you don't sound like a jackass the next time you try to "teach" someone.
