It never comes to mind that he could acquire money by simply getting a f-ing job like anyone else. He could sell a small portion of land to restore the house but he is stuck and backward in his thinking. He would rather just lounge around and let the house go to ruin. It sounds like he will leave his child so much debt and a house in rotted unrestorable ruin. The son will likely sell it immediately to save himself. What a twit.
