the nissan skyline r34 has really amazing handling, and it is just an all around amazing drive, i test drove one a few months ago...i couldn't get over the power, a stock one had...it was just an amzing ride

very nice outcome for a skyline (not my cup of tea). perfect combo, the light weight body of the skyline and great handling combined with the mountains of low down torque the tt ls1 makes. no need to rev the ring out of it to make power and torque so less mantance is needed

4wd drift car = fail! You have never looked up skyline specs have you. the front wheel drive Mechanism connects to the bottom of the rb26 he and the rear wheel drive mechanism connects to the back of the engine via a normal bell housing. The rear wheel drive section connects to the front wheel drive section via a separate drive shaft. Basically it's a two piece transmission

well your comments r useless mates, u know wat the fact is, LS1 LS7 etc out of corvettes using in australian vehicles like Holden Ford etc so low n high compression is not the matter atall Drift Drag Donuts etc requires RPM n thats all out Motoracing, V8 engines r naturally higher in torque bo low in RPMs so they cant reach the extreme RPM level normally found in Japanese sports compact motors.

A revvy engine is normally that way because it lacks torque, look at Honda VTech motors. Revvy motors are ideal for fast driving on a flat track, but there really is no replacement for lots of torque!

boys this engine is 6.6 litres with two turbos. an rb is 2,6 littres with one or maybe two turbos. sure an rb can make 920 hp but it will do it at 9000 + rpm with no power under 6000. this things makes boost at 2000 AND max power at like 6500. beat that for low down torque

it was always a twin turbo LS1, but they did say they were building a bigger and better motor for it, and i heard very little indication it was turbo in those video's!

i only wish it was competitive, seems like it was taken a too far for drifting, grip is always good but that seems to have way too much

No but real life is about more than looking pretty. It's about who gets to the finish line first. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking drifting, I'm a huge fan of both drifting and skylines.

The engine Has NOTHING to do with removing it's "race ability" An engine does two thing provide horsepower and torque. Anyone who REALLY knows anything about engines knos that any GM LS type engine produces Superior torque at all RPM's But you could spend as much money as there is in the world on an engine and you will never prove anything in the racing world.

What "removed "this cars "race ability" is the Purpose built drift suspension. And just a point worth mentioning the car that this particular type of engine came out of is a former Lemans Winner. Something no skyline has ever done!
