@WilliamEGD Because good art is confronting...it makes people uncomfortable (which, frankly, is precisely what it should be doing)...most people don't want good art, they want something to distract them from the fact that they're at work or running around doing shopping. The few of us who do appreciate good art keep bands like this alive.
Wish I was there for this. I saw them live once with Ozzy in a stadium. They sounded incredible then, but this is beyond! It is 7:15am, and I have this CRANKED!
@LEEKYLE99 Yeah, Unfortunately they did. They split up because of creative differences in late 2004. You could tell by the substance of their last couple albums. They weren't bad or anything. It just didn't have the "Tea Party" feel to it. It sounded a lot more "mainstream". After they split up Jeff moved to Ireland and formed The Armada with Wayne Sheehy after performing with him for a couple years.
@Cxaxakluth I seen the Tea Party in summer of 2005 in Windsor, Ontario and they were still great and did not miss a beat!!! But that was the last I ever heard from them. I love them soooo much and have had the great pleasure to meet them and se them 5 times!!!
@Cxaxakluth Yeah...I guess it was more that the albums weren't perfect gold all through. I listen to Splendor Solis or Edges of Twilight and every single song is just awe-inspiringly good...after Triptych they still had brilliant songs, but there were other songs that just didn't quite feel as solid. I'd put Luxuria or Mantra up against almost anything they released for example, but then we had songs like "Wishing you would stay" and such that just sounded phoned in for them.
Sell the domain name and make some money to revitalize the band folks. Call it the Canadian Tea Party!

I wonder why the music I like the most always seems to be least known or listened to...
