I picked up the 32 gig 3rd gen ipod touch, and with full charge seems normal wifi surfing about 9 hours, roughly 28-29 hours of mp3 with wifi off, but the sucky part is i get about 1 hour 20 mins gaming. :( I know it's a portable device and it's a mp3 player first and foremost or at least that is it's rep, but sucks since I havent got a wall or car charger yet for it, so gaming away from home kills batteries in about an hour 20 mins from a full charge. For me at least

@qoaa The processor and graphics is faster, but the battery is only marginally bigger. It should last a little longer than an hour and a half, though. Check the usual stuff - turn auto-bright off and turn the slider down to the lowest setting you can stand. It's a little less convenient, but it prevents the brightness from fluctuating while you play, which can hurt the battery life pretty badly. Check that you've turned off location services, wifi, and bluetooth if you're not actively using them

Need for speed undercover by miles. It's Amazing on the iPod touch 2nd Generation but doesn't play that well on the 1st gen. Lags quite a bit, same with crashkart, sims 3 and a lot more apps.

I don't have a first-gen iPod touch, sorry bud. The batteries on those things are starting to wear out by now anyway, so a battery test may not be as accurate as with a newer device.

It will get warm from one of three main things:

1. Usage (playing games, watching videos, using the web, etc)

2. Charging

3. Leaving it in your car or out in the sun

#1 and #2 combined will make it a certifiable hand warmer

#3 is not recommended.

That wasn't a phone. The iPod touch is only a handheld entertainment device. It doesn't have the phone components in it like the iPhone.

Where when did Apple say the Touch or the iPhone was the best handheld gaming device? Two hours isn't bad for apps/games that tax the CPU alot.  As a phone it'll last as long as any other phone.

One of their keynotes, Steve said "you could make a pretty good argument it's the best device for playing games on". I believe it was either the one about the iPod touch when revealing the second generation, or at the WWDC when revealing all the games coming out on the App Store.

Games that require flash or java won't work. There are a bunch of web games built specifically for iPhone and iPod touch, though, which you can find a list of on Apple's website.

No, you can't play online in either game. In my opinion, Hero of Sparta is easier to pick up on. I still can't get past the first level in BIA. The controls are a little hard to master for me.
