It's also called the Chinese staircase and I did this bracelet by doing forward nots over and over and over again. Maybe it would be easier to do the bracelet that way?

This is -exactly- the same thing as hair wrapping.

The only difference with hair wrapping is that when you are starting a hair wrap you need to knot each individual string over the root of the hair in a series \\\ like that and then start doing exactly what she's doing in the video only instead of holding JUST strings in the middle you are also holding a chunk of hair.

Also, you can slip a charm on the strand you are wrapping with and make the hair wrap even more awesome.

@MaddieXOXO4 I realized a bit late that this video is not identical to the hair wrap. I didn't watch the full thing- just saw her hold it up. Results are similar but the method isn't the same.

This really isn't the "proper" method, this is fine for a bracelet but if you do this in your hair you'll have to cut it out.

1. Wrapping with 2 strings is faster and neater.

2. You aren't really supposed to knot between colors.
