  • It's meant for old people who don't know shit about technology and should buy technology.

  • but its just 50 bucks in the store to get it setup there charging for coming to your house on top of that gas isn't cheap lol :)

  • Hello Mr. Iobuffa, I work for the geek squad. In defense of Geek Squad (and defending my job) The agents/installers etc DO NOT determine the price dictated for installs. True. the process of plugging in cables is beyond simple to someone who is familiar with how to do things of that nature, but I speak to people on a daily basis that would rather pay money to rest assure that it will be hooked up correctly rather then to attempt to do it their selves. As outlandish as you (a fellow tech head)

  • @MattRileyResponds believes it to be, this is the way the general consumer DOES think, and of course the corporate part of the company does know how to capitalize on this. We do not agree on the all these prices as well.../soapboxend

  • @MrRamziaB, somewat true but the installation is very easy and yet they charge way overprice. ie: oil change for $40 in shop; if you do it yourself, it costs like 10 bucks but you have to go thru the messing process and screwing screws carefully. whereas, installation ps3 is more like plug it in, no difficult or messing process.

  • oh yea, they also charge you install your own OS CD for $130.

  • @leepialong and for many of us, that is overpriced because we know how to do it. but to someone who doesnt know how to do it themselves, the service is a godsend.

Just because you dont agree with it, doesnt make it wrong. remember, there are alot of dumb people out there.

  • The 129.99 is for a whole room install. it covers up to 7 devices, ongoing support, troubleshooting, as well as updates. the trip-charge to have a GS agent come to the house is 99.99. that pays for the gas, insurance (for the truck) insurance (for the agent) and his hourly wage. then it's a 30 charge for him to do the work.

the sign in the photo is only half there. the rest of the sign states the rest of the stuff that is included. which is Networking, and securing it. along other perks.

  • @MrRamziaB Considering everything that you appropriately mentioned this seems like a very reasonable price even considering the simplicity of the job. I really wish people would tell the whole story before making something seem so horrible. Please educate yourself before ranting on the internet next time sir.

  • How can you charge someone $130 to plug in 3 cables (including the controller). Why don't you ask Jiffy Lube how they can charge $60 for an oil change you can do yourself for $10? Shenanigans! Oh no wait, it's called the real world.

  • what dumb ass cant install a ps3?....all u do is fuckin plug it in!!!!!!!

  • You jelly bro

  • That smack was EPIC!

  • its the same as paying $1.25 for a bottle of water and you can have it for free

  • Press 4

  • i love the zaraki sanders on the wall ^_^

  • Awesome Binary Clock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 130 dollars to connect 2 cable is just an outrage, more like extortion ... its just sad ...

  • Your not only paying for the service, but you are also paying for the trip out to your house (gas, insurance, agents hourly rate, etc....) if the agent is already in your home, they will do it for 14.99 add on device to an existing system. Plus, now they have the Whole Room setup (149.99) that includes the entire home theater system setup (including surround sound, not concealed inside wall,). Trust me, the price is reasonable.

  • @theblueone4040 I agree. Considering what it costs to pay the installer for the trip out. These types of services and not for everyone, but something for people who need it (ie an older company that wants a Blu-Ray player, Netflix and something for their grandkid to do on visits).

  • this guy is a moron

  • this guy is a moron

  • As long as their are customers their will be services... They just don't setup the PS3 they show the customer how to use it as well. Odds are if they don't know how to set it up they don't know how to use it either. The goal BB is trying to achieve with these installs is a lower exchange rate, yes people will get frustrated to the point they will return things simply because they are lacking the technical ability. I think 130$ is wholly reasonable for a setup plus an hour or two of training.

  • @WhistlerPMcManus I totally agree with you. Normally for geek any in home service starts at $100. So basically they come over to your place at your own schedule, install the ps3 and for one hour fulfill any questions you have about the gadget and how to use it. Also maybe if there is some time left in the consulation maybe challenge one of the agents to a friendly game =D.

  • I think the price is right.....if they have to come to YOUR house, and connect your PS3 because you are either too stupid or lazy to do it yourself, then you should be charged $130.00. It's even easier with an HDTV. If you spent that kind of money to do that, then we, as a society, should stop you from reproducing.

  • i think it is alright price if the tech is very hot and gives me a blow job.

  • Quit bitching and whining about installation, repair and warranty fees for computer, home theater and car services.. Most of you people complaining about it are techies...like us, who already know it's not that hard to figure out how to fix and install this shit.. BUT, over 75% of the general public doesn't know how to do it, and you have to understand that. If people don't even have the incentive or willpower to teach themselves how to do something, and I do...damn right I'm gonna charge them.

  • @Iconoclast12100 I don't disagree with charging them a small service fee, but honestly $130 (before tax) is ridiculous whether you're a techie or not.

  • @BTPhotography1 Some of the fees are high, I'll agree. But, we have to put up with a lot. Some auto mechanics will charge at least $150 to put new tires on your car. How many people could figure out how to put a tire on their car? That's not rocket science.. A plumber will charge 100-200 dollars for a walk in to look at a furnace or some pipes.. The real enemy here isn't the tech's trying to help you, it's the manufacturer's using cheap parts on the stuff you buy from THEM.

  • you'd be suprised. at our store ALOT of people ask about this setup. and your not paying $130 to plug in some cables, its mainly the time your paying for for them to show you how to use it.

  • 5 people work for geek squad.

  • well this is the dumbest shit that I have ever seen on the interwebs. The sitting on a toilet video ranks higher on my list of entertainment, not only is all of this information completely out of context I am contemplating shooting myself out of boredom listening to this dumb fuck stumble through each and every word. The audience that this video is suited for on an intelligence level is below that which Best Buy's Geek Squad targets with their gaming device setup.

  • i can set up a console with my penis!

  • a 5 year old can setup a console in less than 30seconds....BTW?not even the president Obama would pay $129.99 to set up his ps3...

  • Comment removed

  • If someone hires someone to do a job regardless of how simple you think the job may be, ask yourself why they charge what they do. It's likely the geek is being paid $13 an hour. Meanwhile, BESTBUY pay the hourly wage plus fuel, insurance, and vehicle upkeep. Do the math. Their time is worth something even if everything else isn't taken into consideration... Did you think this vid through? I don't think so.

  • @macinawinworld what do we have here a best buy/geek squad fan boy .. come on guy get real people work hard for their money.

  • @macinawinworld WOW, honestly the most fucking retarded thing I have ever heard anyone say. WOOOOOW haha. Read over what you said dumb ass hahaha woooow.

  • C'mon son!

  • Why the fuck would u get ur ps3 INSTALLERd

  • it's not just connecting to your TV and calling it done**

  • It's setup your PS3 with a user name and such, it takes a long time to go through all of that. You gotta configure the network which has passwords, you gotta configure controllers and connect to a Media Center PC. You gotta do lots of things it's not just connecting! You gotta setup if connected to an HD Reciever even the TV with the Correct settings. It takes a long time to do that. Not everyone is knowledgeable to do that.

  • you could pay geek squad 120$ to be told to read the manual. you'd be ashamed to see the guy install your ps3 in 2 minutes

  • First of all, I charge your mom much less for plugging in 1 cable. Second, do you really believe everything on the internet? Clearly that photo has been photoshopped. Do you actually do your research correctly. You must obviously be autistic to not go to BestBuy's website and check the correct prices. I know in the past that Best Buy has sold these services but the price was $29.99, not $129.99. So next time you want to rant on something, do your research correctly. ASSHOLE!

  • I fully 100% agree, these clowns wanted to charge my sister $75 to install ram in her PC,i went over and did it for dinner and a big hug, three months later we went to fry`s and i build her a new windows 7 PC with just under $489.00..i went with the AMD platform and Gigabyte mother board 3gigs of ram,500Gig HD,DVD Rom,600Watt Power on a nice cute black case with colored lighted side windows..to this day it still rocks....

  • you got that kenpachi on your poster

  • shut up tubby

  • not going to lie theres some dumb ass geek squad people out there not all of us are that bad.

  • I'm going to have to get in on this geek squad business sounds like a pretty penny for something so simple.

  • do they charge for plugging in a lamp

  • @BananaBean03 80 $

  • @BananaBean03 yes 1k lol

  • fat nigger shit

  • Wow how stupid. If you plug in a light or a microvwae then you can plug in a ps3

  • I say thank you to all the ignorant consumers that pay top dollar for simple jobs. I will gladly profit from your ignorance! :)

  • Don't ever pay for someone else to do something you can do yourself nuff said

  • @TheSASman66 and you fully replace pistons rings yourself too, eh?

  • If you can plug in an alarm clock or charge a phone you can install a fuckin PS3. This is insane!

  • why is his cartoon face in the bottom left corner white? isnt he black?

  • Geek Squad are failures to compute. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • he summed it up perfectly when he said "That's sssssssssssssssssssssssstupid!"

  • @HeliseDurocher257751 This isn't an Mp3 you stupid fucking spammer!

  • How much should they charge? Taking that 130 they charge for a simple task isn't that much when you break it down. The cars, insurance, hourly pay(somewhere around 20 an hour), gas, call center(800 number), cell phones and tools all cost money. Lets not forget its also a business and they have to turn some sort of profit as well......duh? People are scared of technology, they just want it done right and hassle free, regardless of cost.

  • Of course it's easy. So it just about everything in life.

If you have the money, and don't feel like doing it, you should pay.

Nothing shameful about offering stupid/lazy people an opportunity to pay someone else to do stuff they don't want to do.

No one is FORCED to pay it, so who cares. Funny yes... indignant? Nah.

  • I'm not defending geek squad or anything, and yeah it sounds like an absolutely ridiculous price for something that for a lot of people would require almost no effort at all, but companies have overhead. I think you'd be crazy to pay it but if you want them to come to your house it seems like it would cost at least $80-100 to cover materials left at the house and paying some guy $10+ an hour to drive around in a car (lease, insurance, fuel, maintenance) and to answer any questions at the home.

  • well O__o it take money to travel to ur house

  • how in the world can u be to dumb to buy a ps3 but not install it yourself. its customers like u that make me hate working at best buy. been a manager there for 3 years now. nobody makes u buy anything all we do is offer it. plus most of the time we dont charge for stuff like that. depending on what you buy. and the fee if u really were dumb enough to buy this is for the paper work, gas, and waste of time.

  • If you don't want the install don't pay the fee =)

  • thats just sh........tupid!

  • Geek squad can kiss my ass

  • I am an actual in-home agent for Geek Squad. If you look at the price sheets, It only cost $29.99 for the actual service. If we could do a "PS3 setup" in store, it would be $29.99, the other $100 is a convenience fee. I sometimes drive over 200 miles a day and it gets pricey. If you have any more questions, I would be glad to answer them as i actually see these price lists daily.

On a side note: Yes it's still a ridiculous price even at $29.99. But some people just don't want to do it.

  • @ctjameson Yeah, I am a precinct agent at geek squad and it is true. It is $129.99 for geek squad to come out to a home. That is just the standard price for it. If you have a problem with it, contact Best Buy. You wouldn't believe how many people like the In-Home service compared to coming In-Store. It is an amazing experience!

  • Some people are willing to pay that money so they don't have to bother with it. If you can do it well then why are you crying about the price?

  • you made me laugh when you were like SSSHHHAAMMEEE!!!! lol but yeah that is really stupid

  • You better get a blow job after they install it too.

  • I work at the GeekSquad as well and I can tell you that your not looking at what you get for this price. It's not just hooking up 3 cables. The 129.99 is to actually setup a wireless router and configure to your pc for filesharing and Internet on the PS3. So, your getting your ps3 plugged in and a wireless network setup for this price. Be sure to read details before making a statement.

  • @anime1257 including that, it really should be like $20 only, thats just effing stupid, i was getting to like Geek Squad but know, they are so stupid

  • @anime1257 Connect me PS3 to my wireless router with file sharing? That sounds like an extra fee to me. $600

  • If you are too stupid to connect a video game console, then shame on you and you SHOULD be charged $130 to install it.

  • I worked at Geek squad an there was a old lady like 80years old that wanted her printer set up on her computer Geek Squad was gonna charge her $250 for another visit just to set it up. Geek Squad has no shame.

  • Even a pizza guy can come to your house and deliver your pizza for you for like 5-10 bucks tip... but some guy from geek squad has to come for 130 dollars to plug in cables... what the hell is the world coming to...

  • KFC-Kenpachi Fried Chicken LOL

  • woowowowowowow if you cant pug in your ps3 to your tv then how do you expect to play it

  • Like the techguys in PC world in Britain.

  • Its not easy to connect cables! i gotta lift my arms up and umm look and make sure i put everything in the right connection.

  • Do they drill holes in the wall for the cables to go through so you don't have them hanging everywhere? Cause when I installed my 42' plasma TV a few years back, they actually drilled a hole through the wall, outside, and back inside so that everything looked nicer and more streamlined. You know, so I didn't have the cables going directly from the cable box to the TV. So, if that's included, the 130 dollars is understandable. If all they do is plug in the cables, then it's outrageous.

  • geek squad is a scammm!!!!!

  • ROFL I ROFLMAOCOPTER @ 1:29

  • Then they will make you pay $200 to install your TV :)

  • LOL!

  • Is that a KFC poster on his wall?

  • the controllers are all wireless....

  • due im not gonna pay that much for some one to do what i could do in 10 minutes lol

  • Are you kidding me? What kind of moron can't plug in a PS3 into their TV? They might as well not own a TV then

  • THANKS, i didnt know what sarcasm was.

  • Cost totally not justified, despite possibilities of needing an HDMI, despite gas, despite wages. Any person that has a son or grandson can get this done for free, minus the HDMI, if they aren't tech savvy. Anyone who's getting a PS3 probably knows how to do these things anyways.

Exorbitant fees to make sure Geek Squad isn't just leaching money from Best Buy, make each customer overpay in order to make up the deficit. But on a fair look, it's the price people pay for not being in the times.

  • @Blakobness geek squad IS best buy. they are one and the same, every cent that geek squad earns goes to Best Buy.

  • @89kayte Of course Geek Squad is Best Buy, it's like a department. But for the sake of the topic we're addressing the Geek Squad service, specifically. It has to pull in enough money to justify it's continuation, just like anywhere else.

  • what happens when they unplug the controller usb are they going to call the geeksquad to hook it back up to power up the controller?

  • If they're dumb enough to not know how to read instructions and plug in cables, then they deserve to pay that much money

  • You dumb fat asshole - get anyone to drive to your house when gas is three dollars a gallon and spend a half hour setting up your ps3 and hooking up your surround sound to your ps3 and making sure your getting optimal picture quality and having an hdmi cable on hand to sell you at store price so that you get true 1080p bluray quality and you expect to pay less then 100$? But i mean what would you know ... Geek Squad is reputable ... u r not.

  • @getatme831 I checked what their service lists. For $129.99 the geek squad will come to your house, which, btw, would not cost a lot in gas, there are Best Buys everywhere. Then they will hook the gaming console with your television, and show you that it is working. And if you want, they will enable content sharing with your PC for free, which only requires one code anyway.

  • why would u pay someone to Installed your ps3? tahts dumb even a 5 years old can do that. LoL! tahts fuckin stupid.

  • Best Buy isn't forcing anyone to purchase this service. This is pretty standard for anyone to come to your house for just about anything. I think the thing that you are missing when you criticize the price is that Best Buy is a business and has to make money on products/services they offer, and that it costs them money to put an Agent in your house (insurance, gas, wages, maintenance, etc), these costs get exponentially more expensive as the customer's home gets farther away.

  • can you help me on error PS3 DNS error (80710102)

  • @bleach713marco

DNS is your internet problem.. When u have DNS on your ps3 its your internet connection.. DNS everyone who has DSL.. if DSL goes DNS then who ever that is subscribed to DSL will have DNS. u get what i mean?? its the company problem. They have to reset it and then it works again.

  • you also have to realize that they travel out to the home and there is a 30 day warranty if the GEEK SQUAD Double Agent comes out to your home. If a GEEK SQUAD Installer comes out a gets this hooked up for you, it is under a 1 year warranty. the warranty is from the intial date of the service. It is also cheaper to get the GS installer to come out and do it for 99.99+tax. If you are going to dog someone, do it with full research.

  • @MissouriAngel01 that post made no sense. it's cheaper to get the GS installer to come out for 99.99 for.... what? cheaper than what?

  • LOL Cord hiding, set up, education and a tutorial on how to use your new console. All taking about an hour. Not to mention piece of mind that it was done right. I think car repair is expensive as shit to, but if i don't know whats wrong with it i take it in and let the car technician pull my chip out and plug it in to a computer to read a code that says whats wrong. That cost 200 bucks and i had to drive there... Just saying man. Think about it a little more.

  • It's expensive, yes. But also consider just how much overhead a company like GeekSquad has. Plus it does include a little more than just the setup of the console.

  • @nnbengboy2 Like what? Plugging in your Ps3?

  • @Gibix Refer to @Psyc0lops comment below:" "Installing" also means getting the latest software updates, configuring parental controls and setting up the system for a network connection. These same things you can get done in the store minus the network setup. "

  • Dude, when I first bought my Ps3, it only took me like 20 minutes to figure all that out. I used some videos on YouTube to help a little and BAM! I was set up for gaming! This is why I think it's a total ripoff to customers.

  • Don't get me wrong, I would NEVER pay for this service. I'm just saying, there is a reason they charge so much.

  • Geek Squad blows just check out my video keywords "Geek Squad Epic Fail"

  • We're sorry.

  • Ok, I used to work at Geek Squad and the standard price for anything done in the home is $100 + the in store fee for doing it. "Installing" also means getting the latest software updates, configuring parental controls and setting up the system for a network connection. These same things you can get done in the store minus the network setup. Maybe the poster of this video should have actually looked at what the service included rather than just make an uniformed video.

  • @Psyc0lops I don't know how long ago you worked for Geek Squad.. but in the past 5 years the pricing has never been "standardized" as $100 + the in store price. While I do agree that the installation is more than just plugging in cables, I think you should research the prices before posting in the future =)

  • even after what you said..it still spumds like a steal

  • 130bucks thats half a ps3 haha

  • LOL

you cant hook upa couple cables to a tv and power source

you should of been back when we had dos

  • LMAO!!! XD

  • LOL 5 stars just for the shenanigans part!! Loved it, took me straight to 'Cow Days'.. Thanks!!

  • They are overpriced, i work for them and feel for people when i have to tell them pricing - i love how they try to defent the job lol

  • im a GeekSquad Tech. i install the HT systems. if u connect a PS3 via a hdmi cable, u still have to adjust the resolution of your TV. yea, its easy but SOME people get PS3s or 360s & when they power up, theyre lost & dont know what to do or what it can do. AND they appreciate us. this VIRGIN with too much time on his hands only mention plugging in the cables what about the 30min firmware update proccess. if you feel the price is too high & you never operated a PS3, try to do it yourself 1st.

  • dude people learn that shit on a quick utube video 129.99 u out your fucking mind

  • i'd try that 1st too. but some people cant operate a PC or DVD player either & instead of admitting it to their relatives, they rather pay someone like us to do it. the price IS high as hell. just like the 103" panasonic plasma costing $55,000. it's high but its worth it to some people (not me). its worth it because they're lost when it comes to anything dealing with 21st century technology. so tell someone who never heard of youtube to learn it there & see what happens. BTW, FuckYou!

  • i did do it by myself never having used hdtv or any prevoius sony playstations. It was easy. Its not rocket science. What you are trying to justify is a sham and good luck in life your gonna need it after your done lying ..

  • lying? whats 2 lie about. u dont believe people actually paid 4 that? like i said i dont agree with the price, but some people think its worth it. i would never pay 4 that. i would find some1 i know 2 do it 4 me. btw, people dont usually pay 4 us just to connect it, they pay for that, 4 us 2 get it online, 4 us 2 download the new firmware, & 4 us show them how to use it.

  • 1 guy paid for us to set his up because he couldnt figure it out & wanted it setup for his kids for christmas morning. he said he wanted to know how to do everything on it so he could impress his 3 sons on christmas morning. he planned on playing it with them all day on christmas & didnt want to be the one looking lost when they fired it up. so to him, that was worth it. so BTW, FuckYou!

  • @rodpratts if your a geeksuquad tech why are you calling him a virgin your obviously one

  • If you're into video games and you don't know how to plug electronic devices....err....hmmm

  • As a geeksquad agent, I can tell you, not only this is crazy, but you have no idea how much times we charge people for more services that they dont need, saying them they have virus or that hard drive is dead, etc. I don't have the choice to do that or not, I had big problems with my boss because I was honest with customers and they asked me to charge them "a re-installation (189$)" even if there is no reason to do this.

  • @ambucias thats crazzy

  • Its really not that hard to hookup a PS3, u have the power cable (thats obvious to where that goes) and the component cable (into the correct colored slots). And it probably takes them 5 minutes to hook it up. I would never pay that.

  • yeah i know.. you've gotta be a bit of an idiot not to know how

  • Even with the HD cables, u simply match the colors up. The HDMI is even easier (which is what I have) It's one cord that goes into your TV

  • The actual price of the Connection is $30. The $100 is for TRIP CHARGE and Labor. How much would you charge to drive all the way out to someones house (25 mile radius), pay yourself per hour, connect a ps3 and include networking? Google your average trip charge. A service call averages at $80-$120 (Just Trip). The service is like any other GS service: Install, Config, Customer Education and Service calls. Try asking before you ASSUME.

  • First off all Geek squad doesnt put a gun to anyones head and tells them they have to purshace that service! Customers buy that service because they want to! If they keep offering it, it means that people are buying it! Not everyone is tech savey!

  • you have to be a complete moron to pay 130 bucks for someone to connect your ps3 to your tv.

  • or paralyzed.

  • @sliznim lmfaogutsspilling everywhere!!! rolfcopter!!!

  • @sliznim ROFL

  • for 100 dollars i could buy someone a ps2 :D

  • geek squad is retarded

  • No, the people who actually be willing to pay for this "service" are the retarded ones. Geek squad is smart for exploiting them.

  • this would only be (almost) worth it if they hooked it up to your network with a good nat type and everything. sometimes they hook right up with nat 1. but, some people have a lot of trouble getting the ps3 hooked to online correctly.

  • Geeksquad is a bunch of con-men. They actually wanted me to pay to have them set up my new imac! Seriously! I mean, you just press power and enter your name! What a rip off!

  • Ok.... Well I work for Geek Squad and let me explain.

The install fee is only $29.99. This is a complete install of the console. The thing that makes it the $129.99 price, is that there is a standard price of $100 for an Agent to come to your home to do any work, whatever the case may be. The target client for this is someone who knows nothing about how to set one of these consoles up, not a technical person. Its all about consultation.

  • do they hook it up to online and get a decent nat type and stuff?

  • just get some one tech savvy a friend a relative hell even a stranger to do it most likely though you would probably have to pay the stranger like 5 dollars but whats five bucks compared to $129 ... but then again is someone who is ready to pay $129 really going to be that resourceful probably not

    : D baaaa haaa the human race cracks me up wait ... I'm a human : (

  • call yo mama! lol

  • so why is geeksquad in business if everyone knows how to match colors and shapes?

  • HA HA I love your vids. Smart with funny. A deadly one two punch.

You forgot to mention.. COLOR CODING! lol

The plugs/labels are color coded. It's like putting the square peg in a the square hole! If a person can do that, they can install a game console. lol

Agreed. "SHAME ON YOU BESTBUY!" lol

  • as if you wouldnt have a friend who could do it for you....

  • Im sure the same ppl who would pay 120 or even 30 dollars to have someone else hook up a few cables with the instruction manuel sitting right there with pictures showing you what to do, probaly walk past homeless and needy ppl everyday, and shake their head @ them in shame. The Devil deserves to take a fools money, God Bless them all

  • thats such a rip off!

  • First off, it is $99.99 to install up to 7 video components to your tv and configure all your components to your tv. So when you guys say its $129.99 to hook up your ps3 you are incorrect, but if you need to pay $99.99 to only hook up your PS3 I not only feel sorry for you but the Geeksquad will do that too. Also Geeksquad is around for those people like you reading this that hook up their HD source with a HD cable and still have their settings set for standard def, because I see it everyday.

  • lol

  • are people that lazy!? calling geeksquad just to plug in cables? ha ha ha

  • thats cool for all you tech saavy people out there. what about the parents that don't know how to set up a ps3 with parental controls or how to do system updates or how to connect it to your wifi? $129.99 for in home but only $29.99 to set it up in store. $100 to have someone to come out to your house, what does that pay for i wonder, maybe gas, insurance, etc... its not as easy as just plugging it in but thats just me.

  • Even so, that is still too high a price. You have an instruction manual to set it up if you really need it. $129.99 is WAY too much for an installation, heck, $29 is too much. How much did Best Buy pay you to say that?

  • ha, they didnt pay me anything. i know how to set up my ps3. but if my parents tried to set it up they would find a way to mess it up. and non techies dont read manuals like us. you seem like a smart guy, not everyone is like you. just a different perspective. and if $29 is too expensive for you, you should think about finding a different better paying job, cuz 30 bucks aint that much money man, lol

  • I suppose $30 dollars isn't that much, but paying a lot for that little work is absurd. For example, at $129.99 the A/V, Power, Network/LAN Cable, and the Controller cable being plugged in is $32.50 per cable. It would take somebody experienced (Geek Squad) less than 2 minutes to set up.

  • again...why are you stuck on the cables part of the service? i agree, anyone can hook hook up cables (well, almost everyone)...its the system updating, hooking up to wifi, creating user profiles, and setting up parental controls. not to mention they check out the unit to make sure it all aspects of the ps3 work and that its not bad out of the box. $30 for that aint half bad. i wouldnt pay for it, cuz i know how to do all of that, but the average mom or dad might not be that tech saavy =/

  • Their problem

  • $2.99 plus tax XD.

  • who would pay that, even people who get an f- - in school cand still instal a ps3!

  • could you as a favor call sony and confirm the ps3 backward compatibil
