Is this actually stop motion? Or just a time lapse? Some parts of it look too blurry, which make it look like video, stop motion is usually a lot crisper between frames... Just wondering.

@cosmiacian Technically it's timelapse... by which I mean it's all made from still photos which I think is what you were asking. None of it is real-time video, or sped up video footage.

@PaulAlexThornton Cool. There are some bits where you were probably moving while photographing, and your shutter speed was probably slow enough to capture a bit of blur. Thanks for the response, I'm studying stop motion right now, so it's useful to catch little anomalies like this. Very interesting. :)

That explains the brush like effect, I suppose. If this is done in time lapse, the strokes could be more slower in action as video requires more frames per second. I like the idea of stop motion as picture frames are much clearer than video frames. Though it requires tedious work, as it is similar to the process of remastering a vintage movie clip.

I love your art. I love to draw myself ,and I am glad I know how to control the pen to create those shades..its not very easy..your hands start hurting and cramping lol. Besides the amazing art!.. I was showing my friends on facebook this video and my friend brot up a good point. Ill copy and paste exactly what he said .. "humm its just floating over some vertebra... you should be able to see the vertebra thru the mouth connect to the back of the skull. other than than great"... and he is right

@Irenepf I think people are approaching this drawing thinking it's supposed to be anatomically correct. It's not. This is just one interpretation of a sugar skull. If you read about sugar skulls you might understand the concept/ Imagine somebody has got a skull, a spine, some flowers and chosen to embellish them and lay them out decoratively and you will be somewhere along the right lines. This is what I did with my drawing and I chose not to connect the spine there, it's not an accident.
