  • T.p.ok [franco]1952

  • oyo nde oeuvre

  • some people say he was just an average guitarist ,but i always prefer him on the rhythm guitar , for example in this song, momi, and most of the songs he played with t.p. ok jazz. rip Freddy.

  • I could listen to this forever thanks again for posting them. Je n'ai plus de mots pour vous remecier

  • A powerful voice that will live on forever.Mayaula Mayoni's music was in a unique class of its own. With a voice backed by instruments played together only with the arrangement of a genius, this music will never go away no matter how many times it is played.

  • What else are we left with......all the geniuses are leaving us one by one. It hurts when you listen to this piece. Tears of admiration and awesomeness yet sadness flow uncontrollably. Indeed when the center can not hold, things fall apart , said novelist Chinua Achebe of Nigeria. Survivors of TPOK JAZZ must be suffering from within since Franco's departure. I am 47 with College education. This is the one music that I can only listen to.

    RIP Mayaula.

  • Rest in Eternal Peace Mayaula Mayoni. Your music is always great to listen to. Mayaula Mayoni, I found a lot of solace in your music especially during my early years of settling in Europe. Thank you.

  • My condolences to family & friends....RIP

  • Though like every mortal Mayaula Mayoni has left, his music will live on forever.

This was no doubt a gifted arteste.May God rest his soul in peace.

A.S. Thanks a lot for posting most of his songs. Kindly do post Ba Chagarinis as well

  • R . I . P. Your music was great mayaula

  • RIP It was so sad to learn of your departure.

  • Rest in Peace Mayaula. You sure left a mark in this world. I'm so saddened yet at peace that I was actually googling and listening to your songs when I learnt of your death in Belgium. Your spirit as captured in your songs will live with us forever. MAYAOULA MAYONI it was a journey you travelled well, just as you promised in your song "Voyage Na Bandudu" . Thank God for lending us you. So long ma men

  • @shondeshonde Voyage Na Bandundu was composed by Ndombe Opetum and not by Mayaula Mayoni.

  • @AboubacarSiddikh My appologies to Ndobe. By the way Siddikh any chance of upploading the song, Voyage?

  • @shondeshonde

A very moving eulogy., shondeshonde. You definitely loved the man by way of his music.

  • Nice piece by Mayaula a re-known Maestro

  • translation please! Great song

  • A great piece of work!!!! Thanks a token to Abuobacar for posting . . . . . And thumps up to you tsamandu too for the translation. This team TPOK Jazz was something!! Thanx guys

  • nyarwath, this song must be as poetical as it is musical. The poetry, matched by this seductive music, puts our appreciative faculties on the doorsteps of these singers. The lyrics.

  • Most of African songs are philosophical. Here sexual perversion (an aberrant sexual practice) is the essence of the story. The song itself is unusual because it is well-crafted and capable of dissipating the true message it sends. The village is bringing an aberrant sexual practice to a forefront .

The wiseman is advocating against such practice of procreation. In this case, bondoki means "sexual perversion" that involves man and the beast to a dismay of the wiseman

    Thank you.

  • Phew! this is beyond words. I wish I got the lyrics and their direct translation to catch an imaginary glimpse of this perversion being spoken of this way. Anyway, thanks tsamandu. I will appreciate your further help.

  • Come to think of it, now I can understand the reluctance of three Congolese young people to translate it for me.

  • People:

I will post the meaning of this song within the next 72 hours. It should not offend any one once I post its meaning. Stay tuned.

    Tshimanga.

  • Great song from great artist.I have listened to this song over and over again but I can't seem to get enough of it. Live long Mayaula Mayoni!!!

  • Makes you feel glad to be a human - what wonderful music, why do so few people know Franco -

  • This is one of the masterpieces from home. Where are actions, man? Our songs from that time were philosophical, not to mention orchesrtration from genuiness. Youlou was a blessed singer.

Don't touch it, enjoy ! Tshimanga

  • I've tried to get a translation of this song chiefly because of its seductive rhythm. I've tried 2 transcribe & look up words in dictionary. Singers seem to be talking about a witchcraft scene that occurred in the singer's village.. human flesh, witchdoctors...

Only a person fluent in Lingala can give us accurate translation 2 disclose its philosophy. Somehow we've not been lucky 2 find a translator. We'll keep waiting.

  • Great song! Great thanks to you AS! Do you know if Mayaula Mayoni was playing rhythm guitar on this? Was Michelino in there?

  • The title of this beautiful number is "Bondoki." A Lingala dictionary says that "Bondoki" means "witchcraft." Who can give the translation of this song?

  • Aboubacar Siddikh you're really fantastic

Aboubacar Siddikh du bist wirklich fantastisch

  • Aboubacar Siddikh je bent echt fantastisch
