You have a serious problems with history. We, the Croats settled here in 7th century, we inherited roman culture along with architecture of coastline cities. But we are of Slavic origin. That is something obvious for Gods sake.

Yeah, and the Poles, Czechs, Ukrainians, Russians, Serbs, Slovaks etc. are also Slavic but if that bothers you then you are a chauvinist. In 1830s there was a belief that we are Ilyrians but that belief was soon abandoned cause it was proven to be wrong.

Who abandoned the belief we are Ilyrians? Srbo monarchs trying to rid jugoslavija of nationalism? And if you plan on goin on the notion that we're slavic because of the language, don't... the same argument will arise... srbo leadersenforced their language on a naive and stupid Croatian people... I dont want to involve politics in this debate. Fact is - Croats are Slavic nation. And that is something we should be proud of. Have you ever heard of Croatian national renaissance? If you did, you should now that some people of that era like Ljudevit Gaj believed that not only Croats, but all south Slavic people are descendants of Illyirians. So when you are mentioning Illyria you should know that it involves all south Slavic people. That term was Yugoslav before Yugoslavia was created.
