The RS trim, I think, was discontinued starting when they made the 4th generation Eclipses. The 3g RS Eclipses had an automatic transmission, but did NOT have the manumatic mode.

i owned a 1995 eclipse gs myself.and i can say that the hood scoop (thats what it is called,not a hump,bubble,or anything else,its a HOOD SCOOP) and it just for a look.it isn't because anything sticks up or to make clearance for anything.it is just for look's.if anything,it would be to help cool the motor down at speed,but i highly doubt that.it's not for a turbo,not for battery,not even to serve any function.ITS FOR LOOKS. i hope this helps.=](note,it was that way for ALL 1990's models.)

@stoone113 in a 4 speed automatic P is park, R is reverse, D is drive (3rd & 4th gear), 2 is 2nd gear, and it won't upshift from 2nd if in 2, and 1 or L is 1st gear. 2 and L are best used for compression braking to save brake pad, or if you're going downhill in the mountains, or if you're trying to pull something and don't want it to upshift. I use L when I'm on steep gravel in a FWD automatic, because I can gently put on the power, without it possibly jerking the wheels too much when it shifts.

I use to own a base Eclipse RS just like this one, red and everything. Mine wasn't modded to hell like this one is but it was a great car for me. I had it for 7 years and it never gave me a problem. It was not very fast, nor did it handle great (it came with stock 14" wheels), but it was very reliable and it looked cool. It was a good car for me during my college years. It's a good starter car, but not really meant for anyone over 22 or 23.
