what the fuck....everyone wants an answer....I don't have any....I don't care..just give me the fucken money...it sure cures alot or stops the bleeding for awhile. chaz
Well, thanks for introducing me to this poem. We all trip up...but you should have caught the error before uploading.
I thought the beginning was good...but charlie would not leaned on some of the words like you do...his delivery is much flatter...not that you have to imitate him, tho.
fuck all this reading/delivery crap. he's dead, which means the only way to get his word audibly heard for poems he hasnt already recited means to read it. i know its trite, and looses meaning in the preocess... but theres still some sorta visceralness in it. so cut the guy some slack and write/read ur own poems if thats what u want 2 hear. sorry, its late and im bitter and appreciative at the same time. im sure theres plenty spelling errors, so that should make all u other ppl happy. good nite
I think people want to connect with something meaningful. I would've liked meeting Charles Bukowski. When I first read his work, I discovered that poetry wasn't just the lame stuff I read in high school--the kind of poetry I hated. It could be written in a way that's personal. That was his gift to me: inspiration.
to miss a line is unforgivable. the reading should have been slower, more expressive, greater enunciation on end of lines. no offense, but why bother reading another's work.
Yah, the reading was OK, maybe not excellent, but you get an idea. I might say that seriously, your accent's too American, and the reading was to fast, I imagine -and emphasize, it's my imagination, because so far I haven't found a video of Bukowski himself-, that CB would've read it a bit slower, with more silences/ pauses. But it's much better than other videos read in Spanish.
I can't say I like my reading, but some people do, like pleasemallorie (the post preceding yours). I remember not thinking too much about my reading until after I posted the video, which then seemed too damn late to make changes.

this is one of my favourite poems by bukowski. my introduction to him and it made me cry. because for all that this man was in the rawness of his life he desired what everyone else does. i'm so glad to know too that this was not his voice because he would never have sounded like this. and i don't even remember what he sounds like. this is a heartwrenching piece of writing. the man was a genius.
grandes poetas desde el fin del mundo,¿antipoetas?,no me gusta mucho ese termino,es medio pajero.Rodrigo Lira no me gusta mucho y Huidobro,pf,me alucina.Don Nica un grande y De Rokha, a veces mas grande que Neruda, tambien su hermano.Saludos.
I really liked your reading and the fact that you made the video to promote bukowski work. People take things waaay too seriously. I hope to see more videos like this one.
This was pretty good. Some people were harsh toward it, i think, because it's not so much a presentation or even representation of Buk as it was an interpretation. This guy doesn't sound like Buk...but he's not trying to. Isn't that one of the signs of a great poet or painter or architect or anything else...that we all see and feel their work differently? All in all I would say this is OK.
If you do a better one and send it, I'd be happy to get my voice off there and use yours. I agree; It could be much better (I actually omit a line too). I am used to writing, shooting, editing, but being the talent too is a not my forte. Hopefully it's not so bad it would serve Bukowski's work better deleted. I actually know the power of a poem well-read. When I heard a recording of Eliot reading "The Wasteland", it came alive for me. Thanks

I don't know why you would expect someone who is NOT Bukowski to read like Bukowski, you retarded fucks.

Very touching poem--I like how Bukowski respects his fans even as he acknowledges he can't really help them.
