When dealing with certain cultures, being nice does not work.
In the United States, especially, it does not work being sympathetic and a people's person to bring the best out of people. It just doesn't. I've never seen it work. I've had my own ass kicked before I got better at something, and I'm not even one to think I'm good at it in the FIRST place.
Hence Chef Ramsay. He's the chef able to rip the best out of people in certain cultures, US and Britain being the two I can think of.

But it's quite obvious that the line Ramsay has in his shows is all about being provocative and being a prick on the telly for the sake of showmanship. He's a fucking arse, plain and simple... but a successful arse, and I of course have respect for his success in itself. I just dislike his person, not his food, and there are people from both Britain and USA that agrees with me.
Ramsay is of course 100% correct, but it's delightful to see someone with a larger bone in their nose beating him the fuck down. He's a brilliant chef and has experience others would die trying to achieve, but he's not in any way a people person and it's really good to see his ego beaten to pulp now and then.
We have a version of this show in Norway with a Norwegian master chef. He achieves exactly the same things, but by actually showing some fucking empathy. He's a hundred times better imo.

He met his match in being a fucking bitch and he was simply not ready for it, flabbergasted over the fact that someone would actually spit at his dedication and intentions. Actually, Ramsay uses a tried and tested technqiue. It's called bringing people down a peg or two to actually see what's going on around them and to to break down the walls of denial and self dellusion people put up. He has a passion for the industry and for helping struggling businesses. And what's more, he's bloody good at it.
Ramsey is ALWAYS INSULTING people, making them angry while they are under pressure. The aim of show is to show as much fighting scenes, and to make people look like idiots, and THEN when they are humiliated, then he helps them. EVERY TIME is like this

When dealing with certain cultures, being nice does not work.
In the United States, especially, it does not work being sympathetic and a people's person to bring the best out of people. It just doesn't. I've never seen it work. I've had my own ass kicked before I got better at something, and I'm not even one to think I'm good at it in the FIRST place.
Hence Chef Ramsay. He's the chef able to rip the best out of people in certain cultures, US and Britain being the two I can think of.

But it's quite obvious that the line Ramsay has in his shows is all about being provocative and being a prick on the telly for the sake of showmanship. He's a fucking arse, plain and simple... but a successful arse, and I of course have respect for his success in itself. I just dislike his person, not his food, and there are people from both Britain and USA that agrees with me.

Ramsay is of course 100% correct, but it's delightful to see someone with a larger bone in their nose beating him the fuck down. He's a brilliant chef and has experience others would die trying to achieve, but he's not in any way a people person and it's really good to see his ego beaten to pulp now and then.
We have a version of this show in Norway with a Norwegian master chef. He achieves exactly the same things, but by actually showing some fucking empathy. He's a hundred times better imo.

@NoName21234 I meant in the sense that he was not the one who could throw the most crap in that situation, and that it took him completely by surprise. He met his match in being a fucking bitch and he was simply not ready for it, flabbergasted over the fact that someone would actually spit at his dedication and intentions. Sure, he went away to get back into his zone and reassess his strategy - most likely for the worse, but at least he met a brick wall. He deserved that.

@aarossell Oh, she's a bad people person as well! No question about it. More importantly though, she's quite likely very self-centered, just like Ramsay. But just because Ramsay knows how to run a restaurant doesn't make him a good people person. It makes him a good chef. Also, just because he rips people apart on TV doesn't make him a good people person. It makes him an asshole of a TV personality. My problem with him is his dickhead style, not the very good point he's making.

Actually, Ramsay uses a tried and tested technqiue. It's called bringing people down a peg or two to actually see what's going on around them and to to break down the walls of denial and self dellusion people put up. He has a passion for the industry and for helping struggling businesses. And what's more, he's bloody good at it.
