Yes, I have studied theory many years ago.

Notation, scales and chords, rythm etc etc..

the key changes in this song is very simple, not very much going on. The plan was mainly to shred my brains out...

dude i saw that you also have a caparison which do you like better the vigier or the caparison? i'm looking into getting one of the 2 but i'm unsure of which to get

Without any doubt my Vigier guitars. I got endorsed by them in 2007 and haven't played my Caparison since then.

In my opinion Vigier guitars is of much higher quallity. More allround, where Caparison are more or less just for playing metal music.

But everybody has different opinions, so my best advice is to try both Vigier and Caparison, and make up your own mind. :)

my only issue is i can't find a dealer of either near me so i'm buying on a whim my favorite guitarist is shawn lane and he turned me on to the vigiers and watching some of the other people on here including yourself turned me onto caparison i play metal but i want to be more musical and am learning theory and stuff to be more musical metal kinda locks you into one area and not much to do unless if you're progressive and that's what i prefer playing lol

Shredding is boring, every shredder sounds so similar to me.

I think it's cool and sounds damn impressive and I can't do it, but I still like the 70s and 80s guitar styles better.

Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Vivian Campbell, John Sykes, Gary Moore, Jake E Lee, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Glen Tipton and KK Downing all did far more interesting guitar work that ROCKED!!!

Shred is cool but doesn't seem to have that real raw energy of old hard rock and heavy metal
