  • I've loved this band pretty much my whole life (I'm 28). My mom used to be able to play the VHS of the concert when I was 2-3 yrs. old and I'd be entranced; she STILL has it! I've their "Best Of" CD in my car, within easy reach.

  • Pure, olde skool American good times rock.

  • I have seen them live three times once in the 80s and twice in this century and they still sound the same. The energy and the musicianship have not faded one bit ! AWESOME. Yes, the vibe of the 80s is in a class all by itself ! Long live this incredible decade !

  • Huey is too black sounding for me.

  • @UcanbeGOD It's just a baritone voice with some ruggedness and rhythm. You don't have to assign a race to it.

  • @Gamebox27 BTw, this is a blues-y song. You should listen to other ones of his. There is a lot of variety.

  • @Gamebox27 It's a movie quote.

    Watch "American Psycho".

  • @UcanbeGOD oh okay. I actually watched some of those clips on Youtube, but missed that one.

  • @UcanbeGOD thats what makes him so unique and great

  • i thought he said the harder rock n roll is d-beat haha

  • have to say Huey rawks the harmonica.. don't believe I've heard anyone else play it as good as he does.. he can dam sure jam on it

  • Wow...Sax solo...Don't see that much now adays...I wonder why.......(slowly looks over to bieber with eyes wide open and disapproving stare)

  • @SocialKeyboards

Music was dead way before Bieber fell out of his mother's vagina.

  • I really enjoy all the 80 s music

  • tower of power horns are the best

  • PAPARAZZIE1000

  • Detroit!!

  • The heart of rock n roll is in cleveland mother fuckers!

  • Stephen "The Funky Doctor" Kupka shakin the Bariton Sax in the background!

  • heart of rock and roll is on their sports album

  • Does anyone know what the name of this Video is? I have looked for it everywhere and can't find it at all! PLEASE, I really need to own this.

  • The lead singer looks familiar. Was he an actor?

  • well he was in that movie 'Duets' with Paltrow but he's originally a kickass musician

  • @GaryLawrence0 he has some resemblance to Jim Belushi except in better shape and has more hair haha....he did however make a cameo in Back to The Future as one of the judges in the Battle of the Bands auditions (the guy who says you are too loud, on his own song nonetheless haha!)

  • You are right 80's music is the ever

  • What a band of hot musos. Tight as anything. Super cool!

  • The Heart Of Rock of & Rock is in San Fran

  • When music was cool and inspiring...

  • To all the people saying music today sucks, I hate to break it to you but most of the music in the 80s and 90s sucked too. The only reason people remember great songs like this is because they were just that good. This doesn't even mean they were the most popular, just that they were good. What most people think of today about the 80s is things like Huey Lewis, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc. Go to the most popular songs in the 80 and you'll see George Michael and The Bangles.

  • @martinoguy

Absolutely true. It's just that today, we have ONLY the suck side and nobody that will be remembered as being so fantastic like this 25 years from now.

  • @martinoguy I'll take Walk like an Egyptian or Father Figure over most stuff on the produced today.

  • Now this is Rock'N'Roll ! Seen them many times, no frills, just good ole Rock'N'Roll! I'm like wendel88, Whatever happened to this music like this? The 90's were ok at best, 2000's have sucked with a rare exception. I'll take it all the way back to the fifties, but todays rock'n'roll sucks!!!

  • Now this is Rock'N'Roll !

  • Grab the audio from this track at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • Grow up kid theres alot more to life than a tv / video game !

  • Who's the one playing Base?

  • @pf91rodman That's Mario Cipollina, the original bassist for the band.

  • This music "ROCK"

  • Songs like this remind me why I love music so much!!

  • healed up from that right away quick. I'm not from Earth, what can I tell you. Stranger in a strange land--H.R. Heinlin.

  • Regardless of how good this music may be in comparison to much of the modern music, there's still a plethora of "good" music today, though the likes of 'Chart music' shows otherwise.

I think it'd more accurate to say most popular music then compared to most popular today makes one think of our taste in music as a regression since the 80's.

But even saying that sort of discredits the abundance of good music nowadays.

I reckon It's a problem with advertising, being biased in one department.

  • What happened to music? Nigs starting getting PAID to spin records backwards and curse and spit into microphones

  • ah.. the early days of rock video.

  • @xperia60 ME!

  • It's ok, but what the hell happened to his voice and the others?

  • You can't sing with that perpetual "gruff" and survive. I'm one of the session musicians who performed 179 shows with Huey. Now, again, with Tower-Of-Power as were 4 of us in this very video. Can fill you in on all in video if you like. Hope this help, have a great week! Gerard

  • which`4 fuck asses dont like this great video ?

  • I would do a HL&TN cover band in a second. Too bad there isnt too much talent to be found that could create or even replicate music like this around.I sure would appriciate it.

  • What concert is this or what dvd is this from?

  • Check out the new album... very different... but still SWEET!

  • Yeah this performance of this tune is ridiculous! Over the top awesome.

  • this tune is 10x better with T.O.P Horns. One of the best horns sections ever in my opinion.

  • Hell, I wish I was 30 in the 80's. The good times are definitely over.

21th century sucks in so many ways.

  • what a show!

  • @nintendo64ization2

that's CB talk. it means I agree 100% with you

  • @nintendo64ization2

    10-4 on that

  • This is the TIGHTEST SOUND ever made by a live band!! Today's so-called bands listen to this - and LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!! HL& N Rule!!

  • I was around when it all started with Bill Haley and the Comets but for my money this is the best rock and roll song ever produced . Huey and his band are fabulous especially with The Tower of Power Horns.

  • Everybody is 100% correct....what goes as music today CAN NOT hold a candle to the quality of sounds like this..!! the crap that masquerades as music is garbage when compared to Huey Lewis and musicians of his caliber from the 80's etal.

  • my favorite band !!!

  • Whooee love Huey Lewis 80's best song ever!!

  • Not too many guys can pull off a white sport jacket like that.

  • Bass player 3:00 = Epic coolness at its maximum... :-)

  • @emasterg2

100% agreed. But you gotta' notice how it almost looks like one of those Barney Fife shots where he was tryin to be so cool and suave :0 :0 :0

  • @emasterg2 thats some funny stuff thanks for pointing that out

  • @emasterg2 Looks like he was having a stroke and desperately asking for help =/

  • @ButlermozReborn Uuuuuunh, please help me... i cant feel my face...

  • I love how he mentions OKC :D

  • One of the best bands of all time...these guys seriously rock, have the great harmony, and play their asses off! I really miss these days, when the band let the music talk for itself and didn't have to be in rehab every week and the weekly tabloids for some crap like some other so called artists we all know ;)

  • new album from Huey coming this fall.

  • Awesome Song

  • I wish the TOP guys had taken a few solos.

  • Just saw Huey and the News two nights ago at our county fair here in Indiana. Took my kids so they had an understanding of what real music is. Great show, great music, and always getting the crowd involved.

  • TheManiacOnWheels-- I.m 65 now, by the time this comes around again, I'll be with Huey and the Boys in heaven (hopefully)... I spend most of my days surfing You Tube for all the greats from the 70's n 80's. DAMN ya gotta love the tower of power and his harmonica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck the 80s

  • Overlooked by classic rock stations. He played good old rock 'n' roll in a world of new wave.

  • ...funny, out of all comments ever said on any youtube comment section, all of these are about the same thing, talent, back to real music, and I agree. I have been trying to start a band after owning one for 16 years, looking on Craigs for Connecticut musicians, and bandmix, to perform good stuff again, and everyone wants to play CRAP. pro drummer, Tim 1-203-217-7714 cell

  • Amazing!

  • Wow. Real music. Real instruments. Real personality. You can tell these guys are just authentically having a blast and enjoying what they do.

  • I agree, most music today sucks! I saw Huey live twice, once with the tower of power, so AWESOME!! Him and guys like Bob Seger rock! The 90's was the worse decade ever for music! Bring back bands like the news! Huey definitely in the Rock and Roll hall of fame!!

  • GH Mr420, ain't never gonna be music like this again i fear.

  • @ghmr420 Things come in cycles. This music will come back eventually.

  • these guys are what rock is all about!

  • 80's RULED!

  • I went to his concert at Riverbend in Cincinnati great show!

  • The Greatest Live Band ever

    Just awesome.

HLN for R&R Hall of fame!!

  • Saw them in Brooklyn summer 2008. They were awesome.

  • Please.......please......please bring back the 80s! So sick of the over-produced Auto-Tuned fake artists these days like Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber. Gimme some old-fashioned rock stars like Huey Lewis who just had one thing -- TALENT !!

  • I love Huey and the harmonica! Just so awesome!

  • Saw them around 85 at the NEC in Birmingham, they started with this one and everyone was on their feet the entire gig. Amazing live band, up there with any of the greats.

  • @bertfrantic I envy you! Wish I'd have seen them then, there was nothing better

  • grunge music is what happened!

  • Is this gig available on legal DVD in region 2 at all?

  • Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooood.......

  • Lewis rocks! I saw him in concert in Providence back in 1984 - man, he's got some moves.

  • Love Huey Lewis & the news & TOP

  • Absolute Classic!!!!! :DD 80's rawks!!!! :)))

  • My nephew Mike LOVED these guys (rest his soul) Yeah the HEART IS IN Cleveland!!!! Rock on....

  • I always thought he said the Heart of Rock & Roll is in Cleveland.

  • Fun stuff...great memories!

  • Comment removed

  • That's some mean snaping...lol

  • what about them freakin horns .....sheesh they dont get any better than T.O.P.....huey and the boys are pretty cool too

  • Yes, this WAS great, but stop complaining about today's music and listen to Grizzly Bear, Wilco, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Fiona Apple, Dirty Projectors, Bill Callahan, Built to Spill, The Shins, Yo La Tengo, TV On The Radio, Low, Animal Collective, Califone, The Decemberists, Spoon, Menomena, The Long Winters, Fleet Foxes, The Hold Steady, Vampire Weekend, M. Ward, Modest Mouse, The New Pornographers, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Iron & Wine, Feist,...

  • Someone please tell me why music cant be like this today? See how much fun the audience is having. The Tower of Power horns and Huey and his band are awesome! I wish the 80's music would make a strong comeback and get rid of this crap we have to listen to today...Pure talent at work guys!!

  • I think there are plenty of bands with tons of talent, but you guys listen to the radio too much.

That's not where people get their music anymore. It's all very underground right now because of piracy.

If you're left out of the social networking loop, it can seem like everything sucks. Don't listen to what your friends tell you to either, because it's liable to be more crap as well unless your friends are into music.

I recommend sites like last (dot) fm and listening to Pandora radio instead.

  • what the hell happened to music like this ? what went wrong in the 90ties and 2000´s ?? this is amazing talent at work..these days everyone can get fame by having just a computer...and the music SUCKS! ..GEEEEEZZZ we Need Bands like Huey Lewis and the news NOW !

  • @wendel88 I miss them! I love this music! Today's music sucks!

  • @wendel88 mtv came

  • @wendel88 The corporate music tycoons figured out the virtually guaranteed formulas for packaging talentless attention whores into "singers", "bands" and "rappers" that the impressionable youth will flock to, no matter how awful they are. Plus you have fake reality shows like American Idol and America's Got Talent where actors cover hits like this to con viewers into thinking that the industry hasn't turned its back on real music.

  • Comment removed

  • @wendel88: Agreed, there aren't very many modern song that are good, this music is the best (you can thumbs down if you'd like).

  • @wendel88 You are right!!

  • @wendel88

he was on the 4th of July show outside of the Capitol about a year ago. definitely looks older but still has it and ditto for the News.

  • @wendel88 Amen brother, I seen this band four times live and he is amazing singer the ultimate lounge singer. He can cover anything. One of the greatest singers of the 80's by far.

  • @wendel88 Short answer...People Got Stupid on Computers and Video Games.

  • @tball95672

you kidding me? this might be above-average pop music, but it ain't beethoven. don't blame video games, dude. i would be completely illiterate if it weren't for them.
