  • Best Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra, true realy true

  • would this car still save you money in terms of the diesel vs regular gasoline

  • just awesome, im going to get my jetta next week :)

  • DO U HAVE KORN ON UR IPOD

  • scars on broadway ftw

  • MPG world record holder? Ever heard about the Volkswagen Lupo 1.2TDI 3L?

  • Louder than the Civic! I Like it!

  • @iphoneinsidenick tdi stands for turbo direct injection

  • Did you get it new or used, and how much did you pay for it? :)

  • @theiceman9081 New, around $26K

  • @jasonmphillips 26k after tax and all?

  • I agree, the interior is sexy. Deciding with this car or the 2011 Honda Civic

  • Just got a Jetta TDI 2010 :D

  • @byras20 Nice

  • nice lip spolier wowowowoow

  • How much was this if you dont mind me asking? Good car review regardless though.

  • @xgm4life around 26K.. Thanks

  • why do americans always drive with automatic transm.?? cant they drive or what?:D

  • @TheCarista cause it is hard to text and eat when you are shifting. :P

  • @jasonmphillips we ,europeans are able to eat in car with aut. trasnmission:D! but we are not able to text..thats too difficult:D or too risky:)

  • @TheCarista hahaha yeah :D

  • YOU KNOW THIS CAR DONT HAVE SPARK PLUGS THEY HAVE GLOW PLUGS YOU HAVE TO PRE GLOW YOUR FUCKING DIESEL BEFORE STARTING

  • @aaronpourazar acctually you don't have to with the new tdi. The second you open the door, the glow plugs heat up.

  • @aaronpourazar no you don't

  • Comment removed

  • @jasonmphillips Yes you do, learn about the vehicle before you fuck it up.

  • @jasonmphillips In the uk, many people drive diesel cars, and although you are supposed to wait for the glow plug light to go out on the dash, not many people do.

  • @jasonmphillips yea you do, read your manual, your "supposed" to wait to start the car until after the yellow squiggly glow plug light extinguishes. Now of course it's not a huge deal where you are but in colder climates you'll see the difference from trying to start the car without waiting for the light to go out meaning your glow plugs are warmed up.

  • @mite53 @epjb226 No, actually you don't. The glowplugs on this model of Jetta and all new Volkswagen TDI's preheat from the second you unlock/open the door. Thus no wait to start the car.

  • @adamaah they START to preheat when you open the door, doesn't mean they are already warmed by the time you turn your key over, the glow plug light extinguishing is the sign to tell you they are adequately warmed. like i had said, makes no difference in your climate but in colder climates it does, the glow plug light will stay on for several seconds, cause they're not warm enough in a subzero climate, just cause they got a 4 second head start when you opened the door doesnt mean its all it takes

  • @jasonmphillips actually you do dude, you gotta wait for the little yellow-orange swirly thing to go off before starting! anyway, nice car, but it would have been nicer with a manual. But a beautiful thing in deed!

  • @jasonmphillips omg.... its true pre glow it!

  • @aaronpourazar I\

I have dodge 2500HD with Cummins. Newer technology allows the engine to start without waiting for glow plugs to warm. If the light is on, in very cold weather, then you have to wait for glow plugs before you turn key to start engine. Ha.

I have dodge 2500HD with Cummins. Newer technology allows the engine to start without waiting for glow plugs to warm. If the light is on, in very cold weather, then you have to wait for glow plugs before you turn key to start engine. My coworker just got a wagon last week. Car is great.

  • wake up buddy, this is Common Rail = direct injection. No glowing. Your ass might glow though when this thing shows you its rear while doing 40 mpg :-)

  • wake up buddy, this is Common Rail = direct injection. No glowing. Your ass might glow though when this thing shows you its rear while doing 40 mpg :-)

  • @Charliet777 but TDI is for Turbo Diesel Injection right? I'm sorry.

  • @aaronpourazar No you don't have to, Papa Smurf ... this guy lives in Texas, USA. You do the math now ... hot weather with diesel engine ... bozo ...

  • @aaronpourazar no you dont thats only in the winter. its only in winter because the air is not hot enough to combust with the fuel. so no your wrong read up on the subject before you say stuff you think is right when its not.

  • @aaronpourazar CAPSLOCK IS IN BETWEEN SHIFT AND TAB

  • @aaronpourazar only if its cold you noob

  • @aaronpourazar uhm im sure they were told at the dealership. besides at 40+ mpg and the option to use clean biodiesal for free. i dont think they give a shit!!

  • Be Gently its his first time ( i mean the car )

Is it the 140 HP or 110 ? or neither nor ?

    105 ?

  • @pitbullizer90 2.0 140 HP :)

  • I drove the new jetta. it doesn't feel as nimble as this one.

  • An Excellent car choice, Love your Jetta TDI!

  • not to critize you but i would recommend that once you put the key in the ignition and turn it wait till the squiggly line turns off since its a diesel model...:p cheers i got the 2009 model:D

  • Does this have navigation as well?

  • Man..... I can't wait till I get my GTI..... hAApy for you, very nice ride. I wish VW would have thought more about the NEW JETTA design, it's not that appealing even thou I favor the GTI. I have a 01 GLX VR6 Jetta. I love it! P.s. sweet ride..

  • SOO SEXXXXYYY

  • TURN OFF THE DING DING!! - nice cars mate

  • how big is the fuel tank? range looked hella low for a full tank... these are great and economical diesel engines tho, except dont try to hit huge mileage with them, i just changed clutch, dual mass flywheel, one pd injector ... the bill is already a 4 digit one and problems still not fixed...

  • I really like your car it's so pretty. ^_^

  • u always start it like this????

  • can i have ur car?

  • sure it is nicer, but the new model passat is better than the new jetta ... that is what i ment :)

  • tell me, how do you feel after changing from a passat to a jetta ? lower class ... that sux. you should have gotten a new model passat. anyway, drive safe :D

  • @vasilacheandrei the Jetta is much nicer than the Passat I was driving. The interior is more refined and has more technologic gizmos and gets much better gas mileage.. I love it.

  • @jasonmphillips to use a healthy choice you made

  • @jasonmphillips to use a healthy, choice you made

  • @jasonmphillips Your diesel jetta gets infinite "gas mileage" :)

  • @vasilacheandrei Donno if you've driven an MKV Jetta, but you can't really say "Jetta" and "low-class" in the same sentence...my '07 Jetta's been mistaken for Mercedes, Audi AND honestly feels to me like a poor man's BMW...and as reliable as you could wish for...however I agree, the new Passat CC is SICCKKKK....

  • I don't like people showing off. Oh, and thanks for showing me your license plate. I'll come and smack your face now!

  • @ss19800 that's not my license plate it is a dealer plate. have fun smacking up a dealer.. :P

  • @jasonmphillips i get 64 on my 2010 jetta!!! :O

  • @ss19800 hahhahhahahahahhahaahahhahahahha nub

  • Schön, mal einen VW-Fan in den USA zu sehen.:) Nice to see a fan of German Cars in the USA...

  • That car is so nice... I bought two. Smart buy man, congratulations! I wonder why Americans can't build such a perfect car like VW does. The Americans should begin hiring German engineers if they really want to compete globally. LMAO! how pathetic!!!!

  • Sweet. 58MPG? Thats crazy man.

  • @xxDarkHeartxx731 you have to drive like a grandma to get that.. I get 30MPG on average driving around the city and 45 on the highway.

  • @jasonmphillips He also won't get 58mpg with an Automatic Transmission. More like 45-48 mpg highway (tops) then normal driving is like 40...

  • @xxDarkHeartxx731 - Lol 58mpg 'Crazy'... Come to the UK we have cars that can get up to 75mpg

  • @adamc260 though FITTING into those tiny cars could prove to be a problem for anyone over 5'5", "hope ya didn't need to bring anything with you"...I can get over 100mpg in a bigass Ford van.....by carpooling;-) I'd be happy with the new Focus. 40mpg is perfect, tho the Jetta does offer almost twice the torque and nicer class of car...

  • Holy crap the interior looks almost exactly like my 2010 GTI's.

  • @Mudig

Near all VW's looks same in the interieur.;) Only the Phaeton or the Touareg have an own "flair".

  • awesome

  • cool car =D

  • I saved up 2 years to buy a new STi. so worth it

  • Big up for the Aesop on your Ipod :)

  • is it a 1,9 or 2,0 ?

  • @MrMegja 2.0

  • perfect car !!!

  • i bet that thing will peel out pretty good

  • close the dooor!

  • your automatic is gonna go out fast cause VW automatics suck. thats why i got a 5-speed TDI

    Cheers on your car

  • Do the 09 and the 10 share the same engine?

  • @R26nitro250 yes, though the gearbox is geared differently

  • i love what they did with the new introduction of their clean diesel in 2009. they increased the horsepower by 40% and fucked up the mileage. that's what economical diesel cars are all about.

  • tdi cup is amazing....but too expensive. At larry miller volkswagen they charge you 33,000 dollars for a tdi cup. and only 24,000 dollars for the one you have.

  • Volkswagen : catches on fire before you can reach the repair shop.

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks I never had that problem. sounds like you didn't have good luck with yours.

  • chip tuning and a bit better turbo and the jettta will throw u through the rear window

    believe i have a vw golf V 1.9 TDI

  • @Educati0n What is involved in chip tuning? Have any good references? Does it void the warranty?

  • @jasonmphillips i dont rly know how "tuning" things work up the in the usa if theres a VW service or something like that u can get more infos about chip tuning there

  • congrats on the car - was looking forward to a good vid since im looking to buy one - but the camera shake and the background noise ruined it. nice car though!

  • @openshut69 It was never meant to be a professional video. I just made a video to show my friends and family and I have got more views than I ever anticipated.

  • BEAUTIFUL HEY DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A CHEAP JETTA AT???

  • i just love this car:X , take care of it, it a good car

  • @destiny240790 thanks, I have feeling it will last for a long time.

  • Why doesnt anyone wait for the glowplugs? I always wait for them.

  • @pendulumrulez cause you don't have to in warm weather.

  • @jasonmphillips Well i do. Im a little scared of my mom driving it because in 40-50 degree weather she just fires it up, without waiting for anything. I'm afraid it will damage something.

  • @pendulumrulez its amazing how many stupid people don't. even if its 90, they still use them/need them.

  • @pendulumrulez

The glowplugs come on when the door is opened.

  • @highnotefan What?

  • The plugs come on when the door is opened.

  • @pendulumrulez

Glow plugs fire up in cold weather when you open the driver's door.

  • @pendulumrulez glow plugs dont even go on above a certain temp

  • @pendulumrulez because todays technology doesnt require you to WAIT

  • automatic? you should have gotten the six speed manuel. I just drove my dads today, it was fantastic.

  • @connorg494 I HEARD THAT MANUAL CARS LAST LONGER IS THAT TRUE??

  • @SuperR1991 i dunno

  • @SuperR1991 Well, it depends on how you treat it. Manuals are a lot more reliable than autos.

  • @connorg494 cause I am too lazy to shift.. lol

  • @jasonmphillips come on man, stick shift is way better than auto. plus, theyre cheaper

  • @connorg494 My 06 is a 5 speed manual, 2.5. Its great! i want a 2010 gli so bad!

  • @Lucky4mvp16 oh my god, the 2010 is sooooo wonderful

  • thats plether

  • @2253benjamin very nice pleather and I don't have to treat it.

  • this one also good too this one of old version.

  • I like Jetta, but I like they to make also from another version of the front and back a lights and bumper to the same from Golf MKVI GTi that one..

  • nice car man, im really jealous, i want your car haha, i have a couple of questions... 1. Would you recommend a TDI? and 2. How is the performence of a/your TDI.. what i mean is, is the engine response and does it feel like it has power?

im asking bc im interested in buying a TDI myself but i wanted to ask someone who has owned one before.

  • @onceblind6times Well my car before owning a TDI VW Passat and TDI VW Jwetta was an Acura RDX Turbo so comparing performance on the Turbo RDX was much better. When you stepped on the gas in that it would put you back in your seat, it was really fun to do but it only took premium gas and would pass anything but a gas station. I was spending about $40 a week in gas. The new TDI Jetta has a good amount of torque, it doesn't throw you back in your seat when you step on it but it isn't sluggish.

  • @onceblind6times The best part is I am spending $35 a month now in diesel rather than $40 a week in premium gas.

  • take care of this car

  • @PhaetonPower I am and will. I have got a new car after 1 year for the past 3 years and I have had this car for a year now and I have no plans or desires to get rid of it. I plan on keeping it for a while. I think I have only put a little over 7,000 miles on it in a year so at that rate this car could last a looooooooooong time.

  • Gotta ask. What was the reason for replacing the 05? Aren't VW's suppose to have a mad lifespan?

  • @Purifiedinfire I bought the 05 used. I only had it for a year. I wanted a black on black car and also the older diesel had a lot of smoke that would come out of the exhaust when you would step on it. I like the newer styling and the technological gizmos like the ipod dock and the large LCD radio.

  • @jasonmphillips I miss the 2004's smaller less large family sedan looking style.

I'm going to wait until I am 25 (3 years) to buy again, but I hope to get a VW Diesel. I hope I can get 75 000 out of it without having too much trouble.

  • That's a biggest and unreliable piece of crap.

  • @TOYOTACELICATURBO4WD Says the person driving a vehicle from a manufacturer that had the largest vehicle recall in history.

  • kool you got an automatic... fag

  • @AllDayBby need my hands free so I can talk on the phone, text and eat while I drive. :P

  • @AllDayBby that automatic will beat a manual in shift times. although I would prefer a manual and absolutely hate automatics I would rather use the DSG transmission if I was worried about racing.

  • my mom getting the tiguan

  • it is not leather

  • @jeba1979 feels like leather though. Looks like leather. They should call it I can't believe it is not leather.

  • i love scars on broadway

  • why would you opt for failomatic! you claim to have great MPG but it would be even better with 6 speed!

  • @billydudeiskewl actually the new transmissions claim to get better MPG than the manual and better 0-60 speeds than manual. marketing?

  • @jasonmphillips ahh. I hadn't really done my research I just assumed the DSG was an automatic. Which it still is I guess, just lacking the torque converter which is the reason most automatics are less efficient. but you probably knew that already lol. Just out of curiosity why did you opt for the DSG? You seem like you're pretty into the car isn't an automatic, even having tiptronic selection, less of a full driving experience than a traditional manual?

  • @billydudeiskewl

Once you go DSG you never go back. The DSG tranny not only gives better gas milage than a manual transmission, it provides better performance over manual and automatic transmissions.

The DSG is basically a pair of manual transmissions, controlled by a electromechanical brain that thinks of your next gear shift before you do and then slides it in there without any drop in acceleration of the vehicle.

You have to drive one for a while to understand why it is what it is.

  • @ShiekUrBooty does it still behave like an automatic? I mean how does it handle slippage if there's no torque converter? surely it can't just pop it into the clutch from a stand still

  • @billydudeiskewl

There are some informative DSG videos and animations here on youtube, view them and see what you think. I really can't answer that question for you, you'd have to ask a qualified VW DSG mechanic.

  • @billydudeiskewl jasonmphillips is right, the DSG is better than the 6spd manual for some reason. the DSG is supposed to be one of the best transmissions that you can get in any vehicle.

  • @penpen132

supposedly, Honda has a bike out with a dual shaft tranny option, the rider will be able to shift gears by button.

  • @billydudeiskewl Being a VW fan is like being a Macintosh fan. I love both but you have to learn to live with the downfalls. For the VW Jetta Diesels: I love the mpg, but hate the list of weird maintenance quirks you have to keep an eye on. OH and those retarded crappy auto transmissions. I'm with you on that.

  • I would bet that VW is developing diesel engine to drive an alternator that will charge good batteries. I don't know what I am talking about! Let me know with hate or love

  • are all jettas diesel powered?

  • @th3coolon3 No, they have 1.8T 2.0T and 2.5, along with the TDI. (T= Turbo)

  • @th3coolon3 no the are not

  • Those cars are shit, built for the autobahn my ass!! Transmission failure at 23,000 miles, how very reliable.

  • @CBR1000RRPilot a 2010 jetta TDI?

  • @jasonmphillips DSG he's right. Great idea/tech just not worth it until all the problems with it are worked out. You know how many dsgs they service/recall... you dont wanna know.

  • @pachris Go on tell us as I have a Golf with DSG and have never had a recall in the UK or a repair. It's lovely to drive and so much better than an automatic and even a manual due to the way it works. I just don't like the 23MPG as it's a petrol. My diesel car is manual and gets twice that with a heavy right foot!

  • @urbex2007 Neutral stall, temp sensors, software.. nearly like 100 000 recalled. But thats just the company 'official' recalls (audi/vw). You live in the uk and drive a golf with dsg and haven't had any problems. Guess that means everything is peachy amirite?

  • @urbex2007

    DSG rocks!

  • @CBR1000RRPilot what do you expect - it's a SKODA with a VW badge!

  • @CBR1000RRPilot

Which transmission are you talking about?

  • No glow plug wait, WTF!?

  • so why didn't you buy a Golf mk6??? you have family? or something.nice car though bro

  • @golf1diesel I am pretty sure the jetta is the only TDI in the US.

  • @jasonmphillips oh,forgot about that...again,nice car though..i have a golf mk3 tdi 90 hp 1995..

  • @jasonmphillips no they have gti w/ a tdi engine

  • hey man any issues with it? I'm thinking about getting the 2010 version and i really want to rely on it and not have to bring it the shop you know? like the many nightmares people have had.

  • @Sauron767 I have 5000 miles on it now and no issues.

  • @jasonmphillips

Have you test driven a TDI with a manual? they look like there hard to shift, and i heard a few jettas pass by me and like one of them i know was a manual trans and he sounded like he had to give it a hard give into the gears and he revved out quick too it was the kind like yuou have but proabbly not new idk like i said it was just a passbye

  • @Sauron767 if you want a jetta get the 2001 model it dose not have as much fetures as the 2010 model and its only a manual (if you dont mind shifting)ive had it for 9 years it ran hot and we needed a front end ajustment but other than than that its very reliable

  • u know, it gets more mpg with a manual ;)

  • @vasilacheandrei maybe so but that would mean I have to shift I will take the lower gas mileage in exchange for less work on my part.. yes I am that lazy.

  • not really much of a noticeable difference with todays automatic transmissions.

  • haha bad ass car!! i love it, im a die hard nissan fan, but i half to admit it tho, that VW has some purty ass cars out. they look awesome, i love how they did the in side. way to go!! i might get one in august

  • looks really good!!

just bought a 2010 Golf TDi,

    diesel FTW!

  • How much did you pay for this car? I test drove the Golf TDI, was very satisfied with the powertrain but not the interior space and quality due to lack of power seats and leather trim. BTW, my cousin in China bought a 2010 Golf TDI that came with the brand new 7-speed DSG, that thing just rules.

  • @jamesmoocn approx $26K

  • what kinda mods can you do to make it faster , what the 0-60 roughly ??
