slow game, combos suck, grabble moves suck. soul calibur 2 and 3 and tekken 5 and doa is way better. sc tk doa are fast pace games and have awesome combos. realistic isnt everything and thats all vf have
they try to make it realistic with still being a game i think.. like Aoi (the chick in the vid) could break someones arm in an armlock in VF4.. they could still use their arm.. but a good chunk of health was takin away.... although to do the moves that do LOTS of damage you had to do MASSIVE combos... ^_^ or at least in VF4 you did.
I have DOA4 and i have to say I love it, but Virtua Figher does seem a hell of a lot more realistic! The are like what they would b in real life! ut lifes seems to go down al ot quicker in this game than any other fighter game I know of

It's hard to compare virtua fighter, tekken and DOA because each ones has his own philosophy. DOA is arcade with immediate fun when Virtua F is far more technical,you need to master it before it gets fun. Tekken is in between with his own style of grab and combo.

I watched a match on here it was Kage vs Akira in the third or second round Kage launched Akira into the air carried him across the screen with jabs to get a ringout, WTF is that really how much bull shit is that. At least in DOA the characters don't feel like they all have weight equivalent to a MAC truck.

VF might have been an inspiration for DOA(It was made on the Naom arcade board and used VF 2's fighting engine.) But its far more superior to VF in the sense of game play.(I like VF don't get me wrong) But its not as fun as DOA and doesn't have the personality of Tekken.(The least of my favorite fighters)
Look back further - the original VF came out on Sega's Model 1 hardware in the early nineties, way before the Naomi. And I won't argue about whether which game is better to you, but it is an indisputable fact that VF is deeper, has more of a learning curve and requires more finesse and mastery. DOA is for chaps that just want a quick fix.
Correction DOA 1 was on sega's model 2 board. DOA2 was the first game on sega's Noami board. VF is too stiff and boaring(After a while But it is a great fighting game though.)
haha by the way, VF4 is an awesome game that requires a bit of finesse to pull off the harder hitting moves and combos. My 2 favorite fighting games are VF4 and SCII. the fighting system in VF4 requires skill, the SoulCalibur fighting system rewards skill over button mashing.

-Mortal Kombat GOOD
-Virtua Fighter- Eh.... copies DOA
-Dead or Alive- GREAT
-Tekken- I dislike it and don't see it as anything special, although the gameplay stands out, although it is difficult to master
-Soul Calibur- GOOD
This game looks like it should be on the arcade. DOA is the king while this is the prince...

How can VF copy DOA when VF came before it..? And the creator of DOA even quoted VF was his inspiration for DOA. Research before you spout nonsense.

VF might have been an inspiration for DOA(It was made on the Naom arcade board and used VF 2's fighting engine.) But its far more superior to VF in the sense of game play.(I like VF don't get me wrong) But its not as fun as DOA and doesn't have the personality of Tekken.(The least of my favorite fighters)

Look back further - the original VF came out on Sega's Model 1 hardware in the early nineties, way before the Naomi. And I won't argue about whether which game is better to you, but it is an indisputable fact that VF is deeper, has more of a learning curve and requires more finesse and mastery. DOA is for chaps that just want a quick fix.

Correction DOA 1 was on sega's model 2 board. DOA2 was the first game on sega's Noami board. VF is too stiff and boaring(After a while But it is a great fighting game though.)

haha by the way, VF4 is an awesome game that requires a bit of finesse to pull off the harder hitting moves and combos. My 2 favorite fighting games are VF4 and SCII. the fighting system in VF4 requires skill, the SoulCalibur fighting system rewards skill over button mashing.

Another game in the series that will probably sweep Tekken&co out of the arcades for a few months, once again. At least in Japan. Besides, it's one of the last good games that Sega will have ever released.
