@EmBenSorum coffee makes mine handsshake, have a car sickness, go to the bathroom quiickly :D and my stomach is aching and i have a headache. ... Really not fun drug... Tea is not so bad as coffee.
that looks absolutely delicious! I could watch this video all day! I'm actually salivating, and it's 3.5 hours before my work opens and I'll be able to go in and grap an espresso
oh i wish i could get that. i use a delonghi.. i have a bottomless that i use but get very little crema. the shot tastes good though, but for longer than 3 seconds. after that it get very sour.
I'll answer this. A pressurized filter basket can never make the same quality (or quantity of) crema. There are pressurized portafilters out there that tout that they can make perfectly good crema, but this is only accomplished by pushing the espresso through a TINY hole in the bottom of the filter basket. This process will add air to the espresso to make "crema". If you have correct technique, you should be able to get great crema without pressure.
That crema looks pretty bad.

@EmBenSorum I dont understand what is wrong with overexctracted coffee ? Is there something in it that should not be ?

Damn, that was dark. I think you could of let that shot run for another 10 to 15 seconds and been ok. But do what you enjoy.

I agree with the others, it looks great but it also looks like it's over-extracted.

@Vids42 better overextracted then underextracted...

If his machine has a preinfusion (as it probably does), 10seconds to come out is fine.

12-13 seconds till the first drop in the cup. much too long -> way overextracted. should be 4-8 seconds. about 25 seconds altogether.
mawean 1 year ago
@mawean incorect! this was obviously a double ristretto style of extraction.

Brahmanfire 3 years ago
I think it's overextracted, or it's through too slow, and I never see those bubbles...
tanghohim 3 years ago
agreed. LIttle dark for me. I shoot for 20 to 25 seconds.
nodeceit 2 years ago
