  • Four Chinese genealogists were looking for someone so "Wong". This is the voice of all voices, and I'm very partial to Karen Carpenter, but objectively, this woman (Patsy) emotes like no other!

  • Really love her. A different time and a different music all together. Checkout some rockabilly originals at rockabillygone all one word. Please comment

  • 4 dislikes are into justin beiber

  • @kcelvisfan11 Dont bring justin b up in PC videos, please.

  • There will be no other like Patsy!

  • <3 LOVE IT! LOVE HER! <3

  • The very best performance by Patsy Cline.

  • The 4 dislikes have been SO wrong.

  • A few weeks before her accident =[

  • My favorite Patsy Cline song! Effortless! Sings with real emotion, heart, and soul. Timeless! Legendary!

  • since i was a kid! Love her!! RIP Beautiful woman...we need you in entertainment now more then ever, but glad we had you at all!

  • Born Virginia Patterson which is on her grave marker. This is my favorite Patsy Cline song. God took her to soon, but at least we have her on our music cds and youtube. Rest in peace, Sweet Dreams, and know that millions love you Patsy.

  • @lucycatism this song was wrote by another greatsinger musican [carl perkins] but it took patsy to really sing it with great feeling

  • She is the greatest singer who ever graced a microfone.

  • sitting at home jamming out to and lip syncing Patsy Cline on a Friday night, Halloween weekend...fuck popularity! : \

  • Patsy, When God made you he broke the mold. I grew up listening to your music because my dear mama would blast it as much as she could. I'm thankful my mama did because country music is in my blood I love it! My mama passed away in 1992, I listen to your songs & think of her hear singing them & listening to them yes she was a good singer. My mama always said she loved the little bit of yodle in your voice when you sang she loved it! There will never be another Patsy Cline!!

  • j'adore patcy cline !! kiss of french men ;)

  • She was the whole package---beautiful woman, smart, giving, tough, great tastes and an unforgettable voice.

  • Absolutely, and hands down, the best female singer in my life time. I've been in love with this lady for fifty years. Never heard better. RIP my darling Patsy. And to her husband Charlie Dick, I say, " you didn't know what you had till she was gone !"

  • She looks beautiful, and this is a great song, but I think the transfer speed of the vid/audio may be off because the voice sounds a little high for Patsy's norm.

  • This song was first written and recorded by the King of Rockabilly, the Great Carl Perkins who had that big hit with Blue Suede Shoes. Go Cat Go!

  • Oh baby! I am crying! God bless.

  • what a real woman,s voice. No girlie squeaks that we are overloaded on now

  • The 4 dislikes needs a new hearing aid..

  • This was one white woman who knew the blues what a voice. Patsy rules

  • up for the best female singer of the century. easily in the top 3

  • Patsy probably has the purest female singers voice ever she was pure gold. Too bad her life got cut short. I love her music and glad that there is some live of her so we can enjoy her singing it live.

  • she is k.d. langs idol.

  • @Quadrider50 who cares. Patsy had class. Cannot say the same for the bulldyke

  • @txlastrebel Sorry you feel that way. Bulldyke or not, this Girl can sing!

  • I was 9 years old the day Hank Williams died and I was a big fan. I sang "Your Cheatin' Heart in front of my class after it was released following his death in 1953. I was a 20 y/o in the Navy when Patsy died and her death bothered me even more than Hank's. I'm still a big fan of both today.

  • this is my first time to listen to her sing,...i got goose bumps!!! just sayin..

  • i miss her so much and we never met....thats a legend

  • With that voice, she could have sang any genre. She had the perfect voice and style. She will never be duplicated, she is an American original.

  • what a voice love it so much

  • Wow....that's all I have to say. Such a stunningly flawless performance from the beautiful Ms. Cline, as ALWAYS. I have nothing but love and respect, in admiration of her.

  • Missing you Patsy

  • patsy cline is great but theres gotta be a lot better in music than on earth its probably so wonder in heaven that if u heard it down here youd start cryin

  • Great music you just don't hear music like that any more.

  • beautiful

  • If this is from 1963..then it's one of the last TV shows because she died in the plane crash in March...

  • i m not takin anythang away from loretta, tammy or kitty, but patsy turns my crank!

  • Patsy, there will never be another, one like you You are an angel!!!!! And look like it in this video!

  • @6755mark Yep, that's one smokin' babe.

  • Patsy Cline The Greatest female country singer of all time.

Now Patsy sings for all the angels in heaven.

Thanks for all your songs Patsy.

There will NEVER be another singer like Patsy.

    God Bless you Patsy Cline.xx

  • loved it, always will

  • She looks gorgeous here...RIP I love you

  • Patsy has such a soothing voice. I'm 28 and Swedish and listen to a mix of Patsy and more modern music. But she always get me rexaled somehow.

  • Everything Patsy Cline ever sang was perfection!

  • I use to think Pasty Cline and Kay Starr where the same person , but I was 14 at the time. I like them both.

  • if anyone sang this to me i would forgive them.

  • The reason the mic was so far from her mouth is because her voice was naturally very loud...she didn't really even need a mic in most places. not lip syncing. I wonder how long this was before she died? It says it was 1963...she died in March :(

  • @mheath10706 ....about a month ...I remember seeing this footage

Jan/Feb 1963 and in a few days she was gone...!

  • Yeah it's soo sad... She had so much talent, what a disaster! RIP dear Patsy!!

  • Love it..

  • Patsy is not lipsyncing here. The way she sings it here is much better than her recorded version. It's said that Patsy would not sing a song the same way twice. You can tell by the way she breathes and you can see the vibrato in her neck that she is singing here. She did lipsync on a different appearance of AB though which was common to promote their latest record.

  • Even if she was lyp singing it's still her natural beautiful voice, no one elses.

  • Patsy Cline could sing her backside off! And that ain't a country and western sound to that band. Sounds like a jazz combo to me. LOL

  • @afamreport country jazz. maybe. but jazz combos don't normally have a pedal steel guitar in them..

  • What a pure, natural voice.

  • bella,canción

  • what a loss. See my comment on the "Blue Moon of Kentucky" clip

  • the idea of patsy cline lyp sincing is ludicrous. this is an old film and the sound and video are not properly synced. Could you really imagine anyone telling Patsy Cline to lyp-sync? Never happened. she could sing the phone book a capella and be note and pitch perfect every time. A voice crystal pure

  • @steveom59 -- Pretty amazing mic pickup for 1963. Up to 18" from her mouth? It's not an insult to say she was lip-syncing. Some of the places she performed, and promoted "the Decca people," could not afford or did not have the capacity for the backup band and full sound production. This wasn't the Tonight Show! I CAN imagine her record company telling her to lip-sync in these situations. It's promotion, it's not a test of her talent.

  • @HousleyMike She definitely did not lip-synch, this sounds nothing like the recording made in the recording studio.

  • A lovely video. Would you like to hear my rendition? It's on my SingSnap page.

  • Patsy is one of the greatest voices of all time, she never needed to lip syncing.

show respect for the Queen of Country.

  • she is definitely not lip syncing its 47 year old the audio and video just arent synced

  • This is one of my favorites of hers. Thank you so much for posting this. :)

  • whomever posted this; thank you

  • Man,....That just does something to me.

  • Lipsyncing? Uh no? You can't expect audio and video to always be sync'd together in these older videos...

  • @2Young4OldFashioned It looks synched pretty good though

  • No, this is live--it's different from the studio version. No one sings country (or pop, for that matter) even close these days. Patsy certainly didn't need a computer to keep her in tune!

  • yes, she' s lip synching. she gives it away at 41 secs, and later it's obvious, but who cares? However, it could be an artifact of the production. Sometimes an old film exists without a sound track and somebody adds a track from a different take. Looks like lip synching of course, when at the time of the film she wasn't.

  • Nice to see Miss Cline performing, since there is not much footage of her, thank you Pet Milk!

  • Lip-syncing was a regular practice in those days.

  • I really want a cold beer...

  • OMG Sandy quit linking people here from Rh ya loser

  • The electric guitarist is probably Hank Garland. George Benson said he was a primary influence on his playing.

  • @weightfeather1 Yeah....it made her look somewhat pale. She was beautiful regardless, fashions and fads come and go....but talent is FOREVER! lol

  • There will only ever be the one and only Great Patsy Cline, no one has come close to her, but i do appreciate the talent of Mandy Barnett and her beautiful voice when she sing's Patsy Cline's songs because she can evoke the emotion that came so naturally to Patsy Cline !

    All The StarsAre Hers ***

  • what a video everything she sings touches a nerve

  • Noone ever has been or ever will be Patsy Cline!

  • como todos los temas de patsy son hermosos

  • muy buena voz!!!! que edad tenía en este video?

  • thank you for postin this, you rarely get to see her sing this one and to actually see her doing it was fantastic, again thank you. I actually got to meet her half sister in florida who saw me perform one Patsy's song and she told me she had never heard anyone else sing as well as her sister, made me proud.

  • Patsy Cline was an amazing singer! Her voice was so pure that ( I read once) the recording studio actually scuffed the records to make it sound "more real". This song illustrates the range she was capable of. She also disliked being introduced as "the pretty miss patsy cline" and in later years insisted she be introduced as " the one and only miss patsy cline". Amazing artist also inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame!

  • She doesn't sing, she seduces.

  • There will never, ever, be another Patsy Cline. No one can touch her as a singer, and that's a fact. This absolutely fantastic. I was 9 when she died, just before my birthday. When you would hear a Patsy song come on the radio, it would just freeze you in your tracks. She was the best of the best. I would have loved to hear her sing rock 'n' roll, she would have shredded it.

  • @dougalmac54 you got that right.....

  • Oh my Lord, the way she sings the line "Well, I never knew..." absolutely KILLS ME EVERYTIME!!!

  • Incredible performance!...incredible singer! What beautiful style and technique. Simply Amazing!

  • live 100percent...video out of sync ..but vocal live ...patsy had an amazing voice and in her day you never made it as a singer unless you could cut it live...like billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, mahaliajackson, sarah vaughan

  • and this stuff was without any studio /computer tricks to change a singers voice and make it better then it really is.

  • There will never be another artist like Patsy...I will see her very soon.

    Sincerly Grace L. Chacon`

  • @SilverCreedWolf You've said it amen to that. You can even see the movement in her neck that proves she was singing. Patsy loved to sing and she loved her fans. For her to go on a show and lypsync she probably felt she would be doing her fans injustice as we know Patsy would put in over 100% at her performances.

  • Whoever said this isn't a live performance is a waterhead. You can see her abdomen move to support her breath. She's singing.

  • I could listen to her forever...<3

  • i love her songs :)

  • @taskmasterlax: There was also an overhead boom mic in case the handheld mic didn't get any juice. Also, did you ever hear Patsy sing live and in person like I did???? Her voice projected VERY effectively! At various times, her stand mic didn't work, but she belted out her songs and could be heard several hundred feet in a crowd. Still think we should "trust" your "opinion"?

  • @grammypj your deluded, ive worked on many many live shows, sorting out the sound with live bands and singers and i assure you that especially in these days to get that consistency of sound live is almost impossible even if the artist remains still, qwhich she does not, and over head microphones cannot pick up the full range of frequencies, plus if there were two mics being used there wud be a noticeable latency delay.

  • Sueño!!

  • Queen of country! Thank you Patsy for you beautiful and touching voice!

  • the only time she lipsynced was in las vegas.. due to the dry conditions.. thats the only time!.. its a fact

  • If you wanna hear 'real' country music, this is 'the' gal you listen to ! the wondrous 'cline'.the princess of lost love, the weaver' of wonder, the true' Queen of country music ,and the FIRST woman inducted into the hall of fame ! It took them 10 years to do so...they should have done it imediately after the crash. Country music suffered a THUNDEROUS loss when she died in early1963, and it has never fully recovered, and never will. We have heard the Goddess of country, and it is Patsy Cline !!!

  • All the great ones go way too soon.

    Miss ya Patsy.

  • she is worth every bit of praise and worship.

  • I agree I like her live version much more than her recorded version too. People say she lipsynced here, heck no she didn't.

  • Here is the 'weaver of wonder',the sublime darling of country, the princess of pathos, that heart rending throb in her voice that is so clearly her signature. the 'Queen' of country music. no-one-comes-close.Accept no'modern day'nearly talentless substitutes. The absolute GREATEST of them all died in a tragic, horrible plane crash on March 5,1963.

  • @tfan2 ofcourse she did look at where shes holding the mic and listen to the consistency of her voice, theres no way this could be a live performance, trust me i know about these things

  • @taskmasterlax: BS! I met her and listened to her sing IMPROMPTU, LIVE in an office setting without any mics. This video, like most, that are not the property of the poster, have an audio delay. You are no authority and none of us know you, so why should we "trust" you. And it was a live performance, taped for posterity.

  • wow. this is waaaaay better than her own studio recording.

  • I know, right??? Amen, my friend!

  • Wow

  • See you in Heaven Patsy!

  • Classics

  • gives me the chills with the sorrow in this one

  • I think this is her best song. So many styles in her vocals. She has it all.

  • I love Linda Ronstadt too and agree she is very talented, but seriously no one can compare to Patsy Cline.

  • I absolutely love this song there is only one and one only Patsy cline

    5 stars *****

  • Patsy co-wrote two of her songs. A Stranger In My Arms and Don't Ever Leave Me Again. These were her late 50's recordings. One of the songs perhaps both are published under Patsy birth name Virginia Hensley.

  • gotta love her... she's getting me through the night.

  • She was one of a kind . . . wish I had the chance to sit down with her and have a beer or 2.

  • Definitely a one of a kind voice that transcended country music. Anyone who can recognize a beautiful singing voice regardless of genre can appreciate how unique and special Patsy Cline was to music. What a stark contrast to what we're forced to listen to nowadays.

  • seems so effortless! THAT's talent.

  • Patsy is undescribeable. She has such a brilliant voice, no one can match her. If only we had singers like her today... :(

  • oh my gosh she is amazing!! i like odolize her!!

  • Patsy's voice could not be matched!!

  • her voice must have been soo powerful look how she held the mic so far away ... wish i could have seen her perform .....this is the best !

  • Actually she's lip syncing here..

she did have a very powerful voice though.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, that's me in the background dipshit,

    now back to your cats.

  • i wasnt being rude to you i was just wanting to know that is all ... i love Patsy Cline that doesnt mean that i have cats and things ... if you are here because you feel the need to be fucking rude then you need to go else where ok i was just simply wanting to know if this was a true statement ...i didnt know that in the 50's they were able to do those sort of things .... so i hope that you feel like a bigger person now that you told me whats up !!!!!! lol

  • true emotion!

  • Its so nice to see clips like this one on

youtube. This is only way to see great

    singers like Patsy.

  • Wow !!!!! What a voice!!!! No one has even come close. I am mesmerized by her.

  • But I DO love this pretty brunette Patsy Cline...absolutely I do!!

  • I love both artists they both have very strong voices and talent

  • @wotare Aretha Franklin has passed her by a long shot. But who hasn't she passed? But Patsy is way up near the top if not 2nd.

  • @TheDaleDenton Aretha has lived a lot longer. Would you be saying the same thing if she died in '63? C'mon! Get a grip on your long shot comment!

  • @TheDaleDenton I think Patsy is better, but you have an opinion too.

  • This gives me chills. The absolute best.

  • Greatist female singer of all time patsy cline.

  • @sep1952 Agreed

  • She never sang a song the same way twice.

  • What a lovely song, and her voice gives me chills when she hits that certain note. Don't ask what note. I choose to keep that a secret. Although a 15 year old probably could guess correctly. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • don't have to ask....got it

  • Great song, written by Carl Perkins...odd, how many of Patsy's biggest hits were men's songs - I mean, men's songs, written, and in many cases also performed by men. And y'know what?...in every case, her version was better.

  • never thought of patsy singing mostly songs written and composed by men...but it's true...!

  • I love Patsy, but is she lip-syncing here?

  • No, it seems like she was lip-syncing here but she wasn't... So look and listen to the power of her voice!

  • @crazy4patsycline

That's because there's a delay here between audio and video. I have this on DVD, and you can tell, without a doubt, that Patsy is singing live here. You can see her using her diaphragm to support her breathing.

  • she might be, very seldom did the live studios have the tech or sound requirments for live performance.

  • I don't think ive ever seen or heard of patsy cline lip lynching except when she performed in Vegas and she lost her voice the first few days, that i know she did lip sync then.

  • @Antonio811 Definitely.

  • @Antonio811 oh heavens no....she is holding the mike far away from her mouth, so you can tell she aint lip syncing....and you can 'feel' her voice live her....gives me goose bumps.....

  • @Antonio811 plus, she had such a STRONG voice.....

  • @Antonio811 I think it's just that the audio and video aren't synced well.

  • this is for my bear

  • Makes me feel like I'm home again

  • She is the abslute best what has happend to today's county music it is now a sick mixture of pop and country Patsy Ccline is the best.

  • What a beautiful lady with an even more beautiful voice. Every time I hear Patsy I get chills and goosebumps. And like previous comments, her amazing singing was without any kind of special enhancements. One of the greatest singers ever in my book!

  • noone will ever do it like Patsy

  • I absolutely love this song.....but there's no way a woman wrote this song! LOL

  • l could be wrong, but she didn't write any of her songs.

  • That's correct she didn't write any of her songs. She couldn't read music.

  • She just picked up a microphone and sung her songs. No body does it better. Not then not now.

  • yes,'Froggy19510 !' nobody then had her talent, and certainly, not now ! nor will there EVER be anyone like Patsy ! Far and Away, she was the absolute greatest !!! Listen to that voice ! its chilling ....

  • Look at her. She was a force that was totally different from the country music of stars. She would've made a huge mark had she lived. She came from those country looking dresses and tassles to pure sexiness and class. Dolly and the others learned from this woman because she was setting her own trend, and that voice. She had the voice and the class to become probably bigger than the Coal Miner's daughter. Great song!

  • She was a sassy, in your face, take no prisoners gal with a huge, fabulous voice...my all time favorite!
