  • From my first accidental discovery of "Africa," I have been utterly and absolutely addicted -- amazed, dazzled, respectful, struck to silence. . . when not laughing aloud with pure delight. This English professor does NOT have the words for such magnetism and skill. Their obvious delight in performing adds to their already incredible charm. WOW!

  • @sonyahannah Well said, my feelings too. BTW they are great live.

  • Top comments above were right. Canada and America DID love PJ - absolutely!!!!!!

Unbelievable affection for this wonderful group.

  • @tennisnut0095 and they can't come back soon enough. They were fantastic.

  • Slovenian sounds a lot like Italian.... Being neighbors, I'm not surprised :)

  • @fernandatralala Wow, that's strange. I actually understand Italian a bit since Portuguese is in the same family. But Slovenian? I don't really see much in common there but a few pronunciations.

  • @duvillas But I didn't mean the words.... more the sound of the language..... it reminds me of Italian :)

  • @duvillas brasileiro? eu também... :D

  • @duvillas Verdade! Árabe também acho bem estranho.

  • Good enough song on the video, but amazingly hot in person. Tomaz knows how to work the crowd, and does it. (Friendly guy offstage, too.) Great fun if you ever get to hear it live.

  • one of my favourite!! : )

  • I DO love them, have for years. I SO wish I could see them in person

  • I like the part at (3:31) That is cool! GOOD JOB PJ And Tomaz!

    :D

  • I think these guys could tackle ANYTHING! They have the chops and great enthusiasm. And the lady in yellow ain't bad at all.

  • I understand the girls talked Tomaz into singing this and you can tell they enjoy the heck out of it. I think in the last two chorus' the girls hit either the "lost chord" or the Lorelei's enticing song.

And I agree with douglast100, they could do ALL of Carmina Burana and Catulli Carmina too! Eis Iona, Tui Sum!

  • I would live to see PJ do O Fortuna from Orff's Carmina Burana. If any choir can pull it off marvelously it would be PJ.

  • vau hudo!=D

  • I don't understand a word of this but I love it! :D

  • Lahko bi z siddharto nardil kakšen koncert. Kok bi šele to dobr zvenel. Zakon so 5/5

  • amazing :) really love your music

  • So much fun, in the deepest sense

  • Amazing! I'm addicted.

  • Nino nice work with mandolin...I like that in this song the most. Tomaž you are great singer too. PJ keep on like that and you will come much further than you are now.

  • Nino...great work with mandolina- I like that the most in this song, Tomas you are great singer too. I think this verson of this two songs are better than original.

  • How funny. Maybe it's my imagination, but.... during the intro (Kradeva brez vere ), after a bit, Tomaz shoots a glance down at the other end that fairly screams "Will ya put a sock in it with that mandolin bit". :D A picture is worth a thousand words. :D

  • After a year of posting, this one is still a favorite. I cannot even guess how many times I have watched it, both here and on the dvd. Great work Tomaz!

  • Svaka cast ljudi, odlicno

  • Still my favourite one. I've said it before but I really felt like saying it again. It's SO good. And Tomaž is SO awesome. Love it.

  • This is a rough literate translation in English. Lyrics are from two songs, by slovenian pop singer Jan Plestenjak, Kradeva brez vere(we steal without faith) and Soba 102 (room 102 )

  • tbrad, thanks much. Got it.

  • Could someone provide an English translation for the lyrics of this song? I've loved it since I found it on YouTube, and then having it on the PJ DVD; but I actually don't know what Tomaz is saying! I'd be very grateful.

  • jan plestenjak soba 102

  • @alopecia0095 if you look down through the comments you should find them. They were on here at one time.

  • This might easily be my favourite PJ song! Tomaž should have more solos, he's absolutely brilliant! Not just an amazing singer but a great performer too - the first minute is epic!

@mimiller8 is right: There should be more solos/duets to listen to diferent voices... You know what I'd love to hear? Tomaž & Luka. Don't know why. I suppouse I just want to listen to Luka, and as Tomaž is brilliant, I think they'd make a great duet!

  • Wait a second there... I have just seen your Facebook photos of this year's Vokal Xtravaganzza... And Luka does a duet! Ok, I know you have just released the VX08 DVD, but you SO have to release VX09! ^-^ Any chance of you uploading some songs, like you've done with VX08?

  • Cacacacosa, we will soon upload a few amazing videos from this year's VX on youtube. It's in progress ...

  • Thank you cacacacacosa for such a nice compliment. Hmmm, a duet with me and Luka? Interesting. We need to try it out. :) Do you have any particular songs in mind?

  • Well I'm sure there are tons of songs that I'd love to hear you two sing... But right now the one that is coming to my mind non stop -for all of you- is Bohemian Rhapsody! Thinking about it, I find it incredible that you haven't sung it yet. It's pefect for you with all the different voices and choirs the song has! Anyway, I'll think about a good one for you an Luka and I'll let you know ;D.

  • Tomaz, I agree with Michael. You did a great job, and I am excited about the new music as well. Hopefully I will get to see you all next year.

Just sky is the limit! Nihče nas ne bo raztrgal. Preverjeno. ;)

  • It was very funny to sing this solo, because I had to do some show and I was very nervous. But I loved it! We're like a family. You can count on the whole choir behind you. They just lift you up!

Yes, both, Jana and Mateja are our new soloists. You will love the new songs! Hm, maybe some day, we will do a duet together. Who knows. ;)

  • If you are a fan on Facebook, you need to check out the video from last years Vokal Extravaganza, Those of you who are obsessed like me will know. 50 minutes in a row. I am impatiently waiting until the DVD comes out.

  • Is that better? Guessed at the original order, posted from end first. Let me know if it's wrong, I'll try again.

Thanks for taking time to translate, it's appreciated.

  • Wow--thank you so much veverica1010! That translation adds immeasurably to the enjoyment of the song!

  • The first words that Thomaz sings in Kradeva brez vere (literally Steal without religion) are Cambia la piel, la piel--spanish--literally "change the skin" (also a Ricky Martin song). The girls gesture sexily. The girls sing the first part of Soba 102, (Room 102) translated by veverica1010 in the earlier comments. Both songs were originaly sung by Jan Plestenjak. I found the Slovene lyrics and had Google translate them--imperfect to say the least--lol.

  • hi, after such an interest I decited to translate the text (well, better or worse :) ) to english:

    Ostala sva samo midva,

    usoda z nama se igra,

    vem nisem prvi niti zadnji,

    ki ga boš začarala.

    Počasi kradeš moj razum

    in utopiš vsak moj sum,

ta bela noč v sebi skriva strupe

    najbolj norih lun

  • cambia la piel la piel

    cambia la piel la piel

    Kradeva brez vere,

    od neba ne bo zamere,

naj ciganka grehe bere ko bo dan.

    Kradeva brez vere,

Hotel, soba 102. Vse kar se ne sme. Midva, pot do neba, noro zaljubljena.

  • Oh I see. The whole bit of coming down through the crowd and blowing kisses and all that. Funny. I still like their version of both songs better. Hopefully Al Roker knows what he is talking abut and they really are touring the US next year.

  • You are right documentedbuild, and the video of Soba 102 is not as good as this, either. At least in my opinion. I would like to know what the significance of the women's arm movements are. I guess it is a Slovenian thing. And you're right too, how could a guy named Tomaz go wrong.

    Tom in TN, USA

  • tbrad57,

if you look down the comments a page or two there's a post saying the whole thing with the females is a spoof/send up of this guy Jan Plestenjak. I got that he thinks he's quite the hottie. Hope he's got a sense of humor.

  • hi, these women's arm movements are no Slovenian thing. They are in the contects of a song.

    So the lyrics goes:

    V sobi 102,

    napisal je na mojo kožo

    ranjeno srce.

    that reads as:

    At room one oh' two,

he wrote a broken wounded name

    right on to my skin.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, just went and saw the Jan Plestenjak version of this. Thomaz just kills him. There's no comparison. And this Jan guy is supposed to be popular over there in Slovenia? Of course, with a name like Tomaz how could he go wrong: :)

Super ste!

  • i don't understand a word but the rhythm, the music is so addictive. lovett

  • if u wanna know.. that blonde guy, who sings solo and all girls turn to look at him, is making fun of one of most popular slovenian singers (in my opinion) - jan plestenjak... those songs are written by him and arranged for perpetuum jazzile by the conductor.... the song mostly speaks about two people making love in hotel, room no102

  • The best group I have heard in many years - maybe since Abba! ( Shows my age! ) Come to think of it, they are better than Abba!!

  • Dude, Abba? really?

  • The zither/banjo/guitar/whatever solo is great, reminds me of Bobby McFerrin.
