Brimstone was developed in the UK by Alenia Marconi - it even says so on Boeing's website, you dumb flag-waving American twat. The only thing from the US is the airframe and launch rail. If it was American it'd have a special option to target friendly troops, for ease of use by the Air National Guard.

Was reading that a Typhoon can carry 24 brimstones which are about 45kg each. If that was spike NLOS they'd be nearly twice as heavy and quite physically large so presumably you wouldn't be able to carry as many or take out so many vehicles in one go.

yet I'd still go with longer range, you can shoot, reload, shoot, reload and get a better rate of kill/time..

by the time it takes the tanks to advance those extra 12Km the spike covers, you can destroy let's say 1 target per Km......

+ You don't need to call a jet, you're on ground waiting 'cheaply' ....

@ya6655 If you're in hilly terrain it might not be possible to launch from the ground, it was also based on the shell of a hellfire so it can be fitted as a direct replacement to the hellfire on the Apache.

It wasn't meant to replace the Javelin and AT4 the infantry uses,
