Hi Mike. FINALLY you do a whole piece on Spain and the financial crisis here. You know the sad thing is that I see that Spaniards have not faced up to reality. Of course one mayor factor that affects the UK alot of the Spanish Banks are now stablished in the UK.. Thanks for your comments from your number one fan from sunny Spain x ME p.s you look great!! Hasta luego, amigo!!
Everytime I watch one of those pig shit commercials at the start of your videos I feel myself compelled to unsubscribe...but then i breath and endure Celine Dion and Preparation H or whatever shit they are peddling.
I live in Spain and we're pissed with the austerity budget keeping in mind that only the lower level civil servants pay checks have been frozen and also the pensions. But the government and opposition have the most luxurious cars, President has over 600 advisors and useless ministries also 18 autonomous governments filtering funds that never fully reach the unemployed, some people are surviving on 400 Euro a month.
What is interesting is the Spanish banks did not engage in a lot of the real estate/ mortgage speculation that the US and the rest of Western Europe were involved in. Yet, this crisis still reached Spain's financial system.
8 points from Greece to Germany. It seems that A LOT OF COUNTRIES ARE WAITING FOR GERMANY'S MONEY and their "GREAT LENA" is GRANDDAUGHTER of a DIPLOMAT. COMPLICATED POLITIC - It may not be in Lena's predict, but her song and her performance are not deserve the win in musical aspect. Even though ESC is really not a real music contest for a long time, the winners, like Alexander Rybak and Marija Serifovic, deserved their win. Just compare and you can see the differences between Lena and them!
US eagles are considered legal tender and arent subject to tax. I think it doesnt matter what country the silver and gold is from it just matters if its bullion bullets or legal tender. Easy enough to work out if it says 1 dollar on it its legal tender. If all its got on it is decoration then its taxable
I find it interest that these banks referred to themselves as Cajas! One definition of caja is cooking pot. Hmmm? Kind of like putting live frogs in a pot of cold water, place on a stove for cooking. Too bad the frogs can't see the flames from inside the pot so they would have the good sense to jump out!
Time to get out of stocks? Time to withdraw your worthless Fiat Currency from the Banks or Cajas? Think about it, time's a wasting!
I think the bank consolidations are more a move toward TBTF status. They're ultimately controlled by the same bankers that control the TBTF US banks (BoA, Citi, Chase, WF, etc)
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all this great information. Have you heard anything about Switzerland? Not , technically, in the E.E., so how does this whole thing affect them and their currency? Thanks again!
@operaknitter They've been doing some very interesting things to keep the Swis Franc up; like buying a billion in foriegn exchanges every month. Oh and the rumours that they are helping to prop up France probably isn't too far off the mark.
What did you do with that old Spectrum Analyser..... I tried to buy one of them at Reading Auctions, but I was clipped at the post by a hippy who knew its worth.
Hi Mike, Yes I've seen that chart about all the European countries owing each other so many billions on the Daily Reckoning site. It's quite mad. The tax on capital gains is a direct corollary to the "Goose that laid the Golden Egg" story.
"Father Ted" knows all about the "Eurovision" LOL.
Good to see the "Blanket of Truth" if only in the background as a drape...Thanks Mike, peace , Tim
Thanks for interesting/entertaining post. Just a thought about the Euro, one wonders if the IMF amongst others are behind it's 'troubles', as to keep the US$ stronger than it should be, as it is as this time way over valued. The US will do anything at this time to protect the $ in an attempt to stall it's eventual demise. Last point, I think we UK, should get out of the EU, now.
@mini14tx1 well, in seriousness, I agree there's a range of tax rates where lower rates do yield more taxes. Within limits, if tax rates are lowered, more money is in the hands of businesses & consumers to expand economic activity - increasing the tax base more than enough to offset the reduction in tax rates. But there are clearly diminishing returns, and there's some minimal tax rate below which this strategy doesn't work anymore - and that's what its advocates often fail to mention.
It's no surprise to me. I bought a home in Spain in Andalucia a few years back and there was no structure in their home appraisals. The bank where I got my loan from used comparables from different cities and properties that were not similar to mine. Plus the locals thought that their homes would go up forever. They thought I was crazy when I sold my home and told them to do the same because of the housing crash that was coming. They listen to me now. But they think its the bottom.. LOL
@FeverIAm I apologize for calling you a dick. Way to take control of the situation. You showed a level of maturity and restraint that I could never achieve. I will now step back into the shadows...
@fungoolied Apology accepted :-) I've been away from YT for a while.. and missed out on this new 'technique' they have.
While I am a "partner" (more for the promotion of my videos YT gives me than any 'revenue') it does mean I get more ads... FYI the money I get from the ads (a pretty meager amount; let's say 50-100 quid a month) I give away.
@fungoolied No need for the offensive moron thing. But no, I don't know what it is and therefore please explain what it is and why it fits into my comment. Thank you.
Oops I forgot to mention - I always wonder about the oversimplified "lower tax rates means higher tax revenues" argument; if that were universally true, why wouldn't we just do away with tax collections altogether, so that the government would be flush with money? :-P
Americans need to avoid putting money in regular banks and credit unions.
The FDIC is broke and credit unions will be killed by the recent Dodd financial bill.
Put your cash in a money-market mutual fund(not to be confused with a money-market account)through a brokerage because they are backed by the SIPC, up to $500,000 in securities and $100,000 in cash should your brokerage go bust.
@debtruth1 Softening up the trade unions; i.e. agree to the budget cuts without strikes or watch the country implode. Posturing? However; at one point this month France was VERY worried about rolling over it's own debt on the markets. Some of the rumours were amazing!
Banks w/ no money just means all planned out by the good ol' Jesuits into the NWO under them. People need to know there real history and religion to figure this out.
Looking at the Adam Smith data it looks like each drop in CGT helps ferment bubbles which for a while increase tax takes in a orgy of speculation but we all know the downsides of bubbles now, don't we? Well we should we'll be paying for the latest one for decades, if it ever gets expunged and hasn;t already wiped out the real productive capacity of many of those countries it has affected most.
@stuntpea they also use "trusts" to bury it all. An intersting technique; I use the same to "hide" the gains from my life insurance for my kids... hoping I don't die of course; but knowing they will be fine if I do.
And of course; they use corpoartions to filter the money. Did you know you could be a coporation? I was for a bit; and was surprised when Revenue Canada told me how to claim losses... make it real easy to "fiddle" 'income'
Why does the government even collect income taxes? since what they collect isn't half of what they need to run the government. It would be easier and cheaper to just print more money. I rather the economy collapse now then to drag it along for another several years.
If we lived in a realistic society, then collecting income taxes would be a realistic thing to do.
With income tax they can stick their nose in your business, know what you do for a living, how much you earn, what charities you donate to, where you live and how much you owe. The first step to controlling a population is to get as much info you can on them. The income tax is a good excuse for doing that.
Then if you irritate them enough they know where to send the thugs to kick your door in at 3AM, so they can drag you off to the gulag.
who gives a shit, really ?

Yes, the answer is very simple, the super-rich, they 'gift' their property/assets to the various trusts they have.
