I am sorry as this is already a year ago, I have already changed to iPhone and no longer use Android, now there are a lot of 2.0 for Magic, you can visit xda-developers (link is not allow to post in YouTube), there are a lot of resources, I also found mine there before.

i don't get it i got the htc magic to but the beginning screen is so different on mine htc can u explain that pleas?

@frankdenbak Original HTC Magic comes with Android 1.5, I have upgraded it to Android 1.6 which include the HTC SenseUI interface. You should also get the update from HTC.

The bluetooth works, but that ROM version is 1.2, now it is already 2.x so I am not sure. I have already sold my Magic so cannot do any test.

myHero 1.2, however seems already updated to 2.x, as I have sold my Magic, I am not sure about the recent development. You can find more from XDA Developers forum.

No, as mentioned below, it is a custom-made ROM found on XDA Developers forum, come out about 2 months before HTC's official Sense UI ROM for Magic.

I am not sure as I have never touch the official one before, however heard from others that this one has more functions than the official one. ;P

Yes, Android Market is okay, since I locate in Hong Kong, the Market only list those free software.

For bluetooth, mine is working fine with handsfree and computer, but never try to do file transfer with other mobiles. Since I have sold it I cannot do any more testing. ^^

You can select any language you like. Coz I am a Chinese user so I selected the Chinese interface.

Just download the MyHero ROM, copy it to the memory card, then start the fastboot to flash, just three steps only. If you have downloaded the ROM, it already has the step by step on how to do.

and how did u root yours? 1did u have to downgrade to cupcake first? bc i have the mt3g and i really like the new donut 1.6 update but i also want to flash hero ROMs and get sense ui but do i have to go back to 1.5?

I just upgraded it from original 1.5, after that I havn't do any other changes, the myHero ROM already upgrade it to 1.6.

I think that it could not be updated under 1.6 and should have to downgrade back to 1.5, however I am not sure since I have already sold my Magic...

You can still use Android Market after rooting the phone right?

I can access Android Market, however, I have never root the Magic, nor hard SPL it, just run the myHERO ROM over. Therefore I am not sure whether it can still access Android Market after rooted.

Just a clarification wolfinthewind. I'm not sure you have a firm grasp on what it means for your phone to be rooted.

If you are running the myHero ROM it is rooted. Therefor your phone is rooted.

cheers, every hHero rom from the XDA development forum i hjave put on my Magic b has caused really bad problems. One of the main ones is that verytime i press the Home key the phone instantly crashes and automaticly resets. I tried 3 different roms too. oh well

Oh really? So far, it is fine on my 32A! Run smooth, and never crash, may be I use it as a secondary phone and not always using it. By the way, I don't need to root or hardSPL my Magic, just flash it with the myHero ROM directly. Strange.

The Taiwan official SenseUI just launched yesterday before I flashed mine.

I am using a migrated ROM from Hero for Magic, myHero 1.1.2 found from xda-developers.
