very well done extreme carving... I am laughing at those who write something about external ski ... guys seriously - this is carving, not old style...
this is pure shit! you lost all your speed while sliding with your body on the snow... otherwise, your don't put 60 70 percent of the charge on the external ski -> that's why it is vibrating that much!

I love when my ski go tacha tacha plahh tacha tacha. It means (to me) I am push'em to do more than what they were meant, why...? "Cause I am a Rock STAR" Love the vid!
yea i found once i tried to get that low i couldnt keep weight on the outside ski and the inside ski took over... i then hit an ice patch and went for a sled ride... wish the groomer at my hill could figure out how to use a tiller
this is much better fun carving than I can do. I wish I was this good. I'm okay at normal carving, but I actually can't carve like this, I feel like I'm going to lose my balance. I really don't want crash when I'm going that fast.
feel for more weight on the big toe side of the downhill ski!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heh those puppies were turnin!!unlike a piece of 2 by 4 skis were designed to turn you were rockin on dude!!!filth
Please don't listen to the comments about the technic. While they are true, they DO NOT APPLY to body carving! Body carving is done on the inside ski. Why? cause the degree between the skier and the slope is so sharp that there is no way on earth not to pressure the inside ski. Try to take turns like that ( body and all) on the outside ski, you will hurt yourself.
impressive. how fast do you have to go to do that? i personally snowboard and going insanely fast to carve is hard because the hills have bums or mini ramps on the way down
Excellent display of one carving style. Hard work. Fully using benefits of parabolic ski shape + centrifugal force. You have to get into this position to experience exact same forces as on a motorbike doing turns. This style simply would not work on moguls or off piste, deep powder etc., so do not judge a skier by showing off in a limited technique such as this. Go for some off piste...
i want to say that this is not alpine ski, but fun-carving... I heard that weight in fun carving should be placed in the centre due to making the smallest range while carving perhaps i am not able to see the difference between bottom-skiing and front-skiing...
in my opinion fun-carving should give us a frightening feeling of being sticked to the slope...
but on the other hand i am not a professional, so maybe you are right
A lot of fun-carvers are riding on the upper ski. On this movie you can see, that bottom ski have big vibrations what is connected with losing grip and with riding on the upper ski. With big speed, riding on upper ski will cause fall. When you are not using any force on the ski, it's probably that you won't fall.
This movie shows big turns, skier isn't using big force. Only fun carving.
But believ me. In sport style skiing, all weight MUST be on the bottom ski.
im a ski racer in colorado and at least for ski racing all ur wait is on ur outside ski or the one that will become the downhill at the end of the turn
It's much too carving over the knee... The real L'pianiste extreme fun/bodycarving can be easily done just on extended inner leg with both hands on snow... If he/she continues to carve like this, in year or two her carving will be over, 'cause her knees will be, too...
I haven't seen a single fun carving (body carving to be exact) video with the inner leg straight, and I watched quite a few. plz elaborate coause frankly i don't know what you mean.
In other words - do not sit back on the inside ski... That's all and literally will get you to do the same with even higher g-forces in the turn and allow for the turns to be performed even on relatively flat terrain - it's pure logic - if you don't sit back, you simply have to extend the inner ski if you wanna be in front...
total lack of versatility weighting uphill ski like that. there is reason poles are made. it is possible to angulate like that and still have preesure on dh ski. probably learnt on snowblades. gay, gay, gay.
agree with equipegc. looks like a gorilla...kool to some, but no performance. downhill ski flapping all over the shop.needs to weight downhill ski angulate and let skis whip him across fall line into the next turn....now that's a ski guerilla, but what would I know - haven't skied for 15 years!!! wildroverps
There is no angulation as she leans on to the floor so the outside ski can bounce (no pressure), if she tilted the top half of her body towards the outside ski it would stop.
Most of this type of skiing is high pressure on inside skii. This is the art of 98% inside and 2 % outside............usually most skiers (recreational) can get no more that 70% outside and 30% inside racers are about 60 inside and 40 outside
what are your ski ? nice video .

to everyone saying, the skis are chattering. That's the idea, since you have full pres on top ski. So that you can go extremely low with your body

The old modell of the ELAN SLX is one of the best Carvers ever Build.
The newer models ore too soft but the old one is a great ski.
I have them too but at the moment i prefere the Stoeckli Laser SL custom made cause the most skis today are not hard enough for such a carving...

do you have any idea how to sking?? this is an example how to do it... weight in this case is, belive me, correct...
michalmozi 4 years ago
well, I'm the competitor of Carving Cup (World Cup) so belive me, i've got a lot of idea how to ski.
Well, in fun carving it's easier to ride on a bottom ski, it looks nice, but technic in 'alpine' skiing is totaly different.
ml0dy1 4 years ago

Why pressure on the outside ski??
We are not talking about normal Carving. This is a radical form of Carving no Pressure on the Outside an a 100% on the Insiede Ski.
She's doing this kind of Carvin pretty perfect.
Just in some turns it looks kind of uncool because of her Arms Flying trough the air but the Technic is pretty good...
