  • Brown Mark is a weak dude

  • The revolution broke up in early 87, Levi Seacer was Prince's bassplayer. Brownmark was not in the SOTT movie it was Miko & Levi Seacer.

  • @blaqmarc Atually Prince fired them all by October 1986! Not early 1987..Prince released SOTT early 1987 and Wendy and Lisa released their first record by the end of the summer of 87

  • Mr.DunkJunk some bassists use there bass as a percussion instrument. You may not hear a bass part but alot of that added percussion sometimes comes from a bassist hitting the strings but he is muting the notes.

  • DAMN I LOVED THIS ALBUM ! DOSE ANYONE HAVE THE ALBUM HE WROTE AND PRODUCED FOR CHICO DEBARGE? THIE WHOLE ALBUM WAS SLAMMIN. BROWNMARK WAS A MUCH BETTER BASS PLAYER THAN ANDRE CYMONE. AS FOR PAYBACK AND 411 COMMENTS BOTH YOU GUYS MAKE SOME GREAT POINTS. THE MUSIC BUISNESS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HARD HUSTLE SOMETIMES IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT TALENT. DRUGS ASIDE I THINK ERIC GALES IS ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE OF A TALENTED GUITARIST THAT'S BEEN OVER LOOKED.

  • by ''the thing'' I mean his bass guitar and I meant talented artist instead of ''talent artist''.

I'm sorry folks, that's you get when you only sleep for an hour...

  • @MrDunkJunk some bassists use the bass for percussion. The E string can sound like aa extra bass drum and the G string like a snare. When you have a bass player that's really good they can work that extra percussion in a song. BrownMark was really good at it. Check out The sign of the Times live concert. He dose it alot. I agree with you he's a very talented artist.

  • He really messed up in Purple Rain.

The performances always looked pretty real to me except for Mark's bass part.

Sometimes there wasn't even a whole lot of bass in the song and he would slappin' the shit out of the thing, so I thought he was just an actor.

I never knew he was such a talent artist and I never heard of his solo work before untill I saw this video.

  • Is he related to Rockwell?

ain't nobody watching either one of them.

  • Mark Brown!!!!

  • Don't know about yall but i just purchased this CD...yes i said CD, and do you know how hard it was to find it? It was worth the struggle believe me because i luv this album!...Yay meeeee =)

  • @missNYCmodel I just now saw your post. Where did you find it. I want a copy so bad I can taste it;).

  • @musicbox63 from my collection but I have no internet connection at home anymore :(

  • @musicbox63 Hmm. Well, i searched the net far and wide for like half a yr actually. I came across someone who had a original copy. I ordered it and poof now i own my very own copy. Trust me, i am soooo thankful! It's a really good album.

  • Prince once said Brown Mark was one of the best bassist he's ever worked with.

  • Just want to say that I met and chatted briefly with Mark at the Family Jamm, the guy is super cool and slick, down to earth, very fan friendly. I wish I would of talked to him a bit more.

  • hey Gazamyt he is on my space i am a friend of his i know his cousin yes he is very cool

  • He said he was thinking of putting my song on this album but he didnt. He might have sold more records He would be as big as prince and I would be a big time record producer lol. But we will never no. When your business partners like we were you think he would want my songs on his album. like motown wanted my song for stacey latisaw. hmm oh I forgot he didnt tell me the truth about that I had to do some digging to find that out. Oh well. LOL shit happens

  • Maybe your song wasn't good?

  • if you have a RAW DEMO why don't you post your track here? You never know who may notice it and you may end up with a writing deal or something!!! where is the song, sitting on the shelve, get it out there! it doesn't matter how old it is, its never too late! it can be reworked.

  • @411ohwell to further comment on that, no matter how close business partners think they are, one is always trying to find a way to get the upper hand. In other words your song was probably really great and he knew it and may have thought you were going to gain too much notariety and possibly decided not to use it for that reason, or he possibly wanted to take all the credit for the writing and singing?

  • any know where the song bang bang is?

  • On the second solo album I believe, which may be titled Bang Bang, released in '89 on Motown, ultra rare LP, CD I think.

  • Anybody have his second album that was almost perfect.

  • I have a mint vinyl I bought at the time that I havent played in YEARS.

  • damn had that album it was funky

  • Thanx for the vid. Nice song.
