I think they are based in Melbourne. The band actually formed in NZ so they are a kiwi band that just moved to another country to make it bigger. Evermore are from a small town called Feilding which is where I'm also from which has only a population of about 12,000 so you could understand its not everyday something as successful as Evermore comes out of that town so we kinda get protective of them lol

I wouldn't worry about Australians "stealing" NZ talent as NZ can't be the only country that's immune from being "covered". American and British songs are being covered day in and day out and why should NZ be on some sort of "excempt" list. Besides, NZ artists of any level of talent can't wait to get out of NZ and hit the Australian market first, US market second, and then the world. Evermore came to Australia to make it big. They should be flattered that they are counted amoung us.

As much as I would like to see this guy improve and go far in the competition I have to say I was really mad not just at Tom but at the producers for him singing "Light Surrounding You" from Evermore on Australian music night. Evermore is from NZ and I went to the same school they did and last time I looked NZ is not in Australia & Aussies need to stop stealing NZ talent and claiming it theirs!!!

Another consideration Knobby1981 is the fact that NZ has NZ Idol. Why then are the likes of Madam and a few others trying to hijack our Australian Idol, and why are so many Kiwis trying their best to leave NZ to make it here in Oz? NZ not good enough?

My point is Evermore were established in NZ therefore making them a NZ band & the theme of the night was Australian music. I will also add that NZ Idol is no more and Madam Parker has been in Australia for about 7 years. NZ'ers move to Australia (like me) for better opportunities however no matter where in the world I am I will always be a kiwi & not anything else.

Oh and another thing if NZ Idol had NZ music week and one of the contestants sang for example Land Downunder by Men at Work I'm sure there will be a few Aussies who would be pissed - different when the shoes on the other foot aye
